Friendly responsive staff and good size room. Good location. Nice pool.
Hotel is being refurbished and is tired in places with some worn carpets. Wifi was to weak in our room but they sorted that on day 3 of our 4 days there.
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Dinner good. Room lovely. Location just far enough away from the busy centre.
The cocktails at the bar
Location was excellent, everything was nearby. Hotel it's self was very good but a bit old fashioned for us, for the price tho can't really complain. Overall very good but would try something a bit more modern next time
Felt like we had to speak in whispers. Also felt like it was for over 70's only going by all the guests we saw, Nothing wrong with that but when you wanted a good drink in the bar we were probably frowned upon lol.
The hotel location was brilliant 5mins from eveeything..the lesuire facillities were excellent! The comfort of the beds was excellent! Would re visit again!
The pillows on the bed was a little hard but nothing you couldnt deal with for the length of stay! Also i had cobwebs in my room around the lights and in the corners of the room and from the curtains and also the tv stand was really dusty!! But other then that was great!
Size of the room (103) and the view
The bathroom had not been cleaned. Hairs & toothpaste all over the sink. They offered to clean it whilst we were out but upon returning had not done it. We moved to a new room which was also not clean, similar too above. The hot buffet breakfast was dreadful. Staff did not seem to care. We would not use this hotel again and would also think twice about using Best Western.
Welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable room and facilities. Nearby to town.
Not being warned about renovation works. Having a noisy group return to nearby rooms at 02.00 with no member of staff walking to check for noise levels.
We only had an overnight stay, however we will be back as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Good location, pleasant staff, excellent free WiFi.
Lack of flexibility in restaurant, and painfully slow service.
We have been coming to The Burnside for the last 13 years and have found it to be first rate in every way, from location to amenities. The staff could not be more helpful. Juudith Staffordshire Moorlands
Easy walk to lake and restaurants. Spa facilities were good but massage and beauty treatments closed for 2 days a week. Large seating areas for bar(s), lots of space.
The staff were very helpful & courteous, meals available @ times when we wanted them. Very relaxing visit, will return.
car parking is not very organised, first come first served and limited spaces available. Television channels limited in our room late at night.
Fire Alarm blearing at night, old rooms, tired and no air conditioning. Creaking floor boards.
Room noise, very poor shower facilities, lack of pressure - water went cold and to a trickle 2 min into shower- No wifi in room.
Location was good for town centre. For the price we paid the accommodation was good.
Beautiful setting and great spa, Enjoyed soaking in the Jacuzzi after a day's walking.
Noisy plumbing meant that we were kept informed every time any resident flushed a toilet. Room rather gloomy and hotel atmosphere a bit stuffy
The location of the hotel, the cleanliness, the hotel it's self was lovely, really enjoyed our stay here.
Staff were good and helpful
Given a room that was already occupied. Then shown a inferior quality room. 3rd time lucky room was ok. They did not clean the room on the first night and we had to complain again.
Very nice selection of breakfast items. Pleasant service. However, porridge, more fresh fruits as opposed to canned fruits, as well as choices of milk would have been appreciated.
My husband and I were not permitted to sit at window tables overlooking the lovely garden,((There were at least four vacant.) because they had been "promised" to other couples who were "staying for 14 nights". I was very offended when asked to move to another table. There should be a first come first served policy, without preferential treatment! We paid for three nights, and were made to feel slighted.
Location was close to the centre of Bowness. A few minutes walk to Lake Windermere so no need to drive to places. Comfort and quietness of the restaurant and bar area. Very relaxing. Staff were polite and welcoming.
The external car park needs some work doing to it, few pot holes and markings to bring the external view up to the standard of the internal
The location was excellent and the hotel was good
rather worn. Main window obscured by failed double-glazing. Window cill in need of repair. Electric kettle sited dangerously at shoulder height
Location, outside terrace and gardens, comfy lounges and leisure facilities.
Unfortunate view over car park from bedroom.
Location is 3 minute walkto the cruise boats in Bowness. We had a double room with a balcony and view of the lake. Local shops are brilliant. Area is very accomadating for couples/families/dogs. Food at Sillohettes Restaurant within the hotel was top quality, staff here were very on the ball. We arrived early and the room was ready so they gave us the key at 1pm instead of 3pm - very helpful.
More maintenace required, loo roll holder was falling off the wall. Balcony could have been cleaner -too many cobwebs for my liking. Bed was large and looked good but I had bad back in the morning. Breakfast made up for this.
