Burnside Hotel  

Excellent. Breakfast and very attentive and friendly staff. Location is perfect. View excellent from the breakfast room and in the other communal rooms.

Nothing to comment about. Tv could be positioned better- perhaps on the wall as there is not muh room in the room we booked . We raised the tv onto the table to be able to see the morning news whilst still in bed.

Single bed in room 101 has stains on the base sheet.

Comfortable lounges for friends to relax. Free parking, good staffing levels, balcony requested and received.

There appears to have been a number of improvements in decor

I had a bed that was too soft and moved around

The hotel was warm and friendly with plenty of comfortable sitting areas to relax with nice views

location of the hotel is great and staff attentive.

Dissapointed, the hotel is tatty and dated. our room was stuck in a time warp with threadbare carpet dated decor and poor quality bedding and furniture. Only had breakfast but many people complaining about the restaurant. Not value for money

the bar and restaurant were excellent.

I was living in the room 102 of Burnside hotel and It's totally exceeding my expectations!! It has the best view from the lake and even owns an extended balcony that I could get more touching with the nature beauty! Absolutely recommended!!

I don't normally write reviews but I am happy to about this hotel. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The food was great (Breakfast and the restaurant). The facilities were great and it was a 2 minute walk from everything you needed.Great hotel and I will be going back as there are numerous restaurants/pubs in Bowness that I want to try

The gym could do with an update

We had a lovely stay the hotel leasure facilities are great and it is situated perfectly to explore all the lakes and of course over looking Windermere perfect

we loved the whole layout of the hotel and the staff were really friendly Our room was gorgeous.

the choice of meals in the restaurant was very limited and the service a bit slow.

The staff were really friendly. Food was really nice in the hotel it was expensive but really good and the service was excellent. Two mins walk from lake windermere.

For the money the rooms were basic was expecting a little more as thought best western hotels were a little bit more up market than a travel inn. Really soft bouncy mattress as well.

The hotel was in a great location, clean,great staff, well equipped with a fantastic breakfast.

The carvery on the Sunday was past its best. We also had a noisy room with creaky floorboards outside it probably would not have bothered us had it just been the two of us but when you have young children with you, you are very aware of every noise that may wake them.

Excellent value, good breakfast, pet friendly and an ideal location for exploring the Lake District. Will be returning there in August for the ninth time.

Location, friendly helpful staff, condition.

We had a great room - the Lake Suite. There was snow on the Friday night so wakened to a beautiful pristine snow scene - magical!

The repeated Carolls Drove me mad?

Great place great location, warm friendly good price great food and a great base for a wedding aniversary. We ate out at our favourite resturant but if breakfat was anything to go by the food was wonderful.

Bed comfort needs to be looked at as they were not the best.

not alot,booked for 2 room was totally different to wot we paid for. it was for my 50th birthday. we did like the breakfast tho..

i didnt like the room ,it wasnt wat we paid for.there wasnt enything they could do ,not happy. hot water didnt work friday and saturday for an hour. twin beds in room didnt ask for that. so wont be staying there again......

Friendly staff and location

Very tired hotel...needs money spent on every aspect. When we walked into the hotel in the evening to check in we were confronted with a terrible fish smell. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone we know.

The location to the town easy walking distance to all amenities, bars, restaurants, local sites. Hotel decent size especially with spa facilities and parking.

Breakfast times could be more flexible say from 9.30 cold buffet till 10.00am.

Always a welcome stay from the staff at the Burnside. Great food, lovely warm rooms (especially when its cold outside).

Nothing at all - fabulous break - only wish we could have stayed for two nights!!
