Friendly staff Very clean room Helpful staff
Everything, the room, breakfast, staff were all top draw no complaints.
Absolutely everything, exceeded our expectations. Best B & B great location
There was nothing not to like.
Staff were really friendly and we were made to feel welcome. The room was immaculate and the breakfasts excellent, well cooked and plenty to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
The room was very warm at night, even with the radiator turned off.
Not long enough stay
Breakfast Slept well Area
The guest house is very pleasant and I like the fridge, slippers and dressing gowns in the room. Milka, the manager, was very welcoming and friendly. She also changed our room for us after we had a disturbed night caused by two very drunken guests in the room below. These guests in no way represent the rest of the clientele and we have stayed in the past. Milka was very concerned and professional and handled the situation well. I thought we received first class service. There is an excellent choice at breakfast and the rooms are comfortable and pleasant. I do recommend Burswood as an excellent base in York.
Nothing to dislike about this guest house.
the staff were excellent, the room was very comfortable and spotless. the breakfast was very good with a good choice, cooked just as we liked it.
Quality of the room fittings and extras such room fridge with fresh milk and bottled water, large range of toiletries, the room was fitted out as well as some 5 star hotels I have stayed in, quiet room even though on the main road into York
not much really, but we had no hot water on the second day, a known issue apparently, owners need to sort this out.
great breakfast, lovely room. attention to detail first class.
Friendly helpful staff. Scrupulously clean. Excellent varied breakfasts. Comfortable room.
Considering the room rate (£353 for three nights) I wondered if small and friendly was worth more than anonymity at the Holiday Inn across the road. If I had a complaint at all it was to do with the bed linen. One expects hotel quality cotton. One got polyester duvet cover and sheets already 'pilling' and scratchy. Flat pillows (although there were additional ones to compensate). Am I being too fussy? Possibly but I don't think the cost warranted the experience.
All the extras in the bedrooms: everything you could possibly want and then more... Superb breakfast Friendly and helpful staff
I was in a downstairs room. On the nights when the upstairs room was occupied, there was considerable noise from above.
We had a wonderful 3 night stay with you. It was great to be able to jump the bus in York and leave our hire car. Breakfast was heavenly and the company of the other guests was nice. Thank you Milka and Amber for looking after us so well.
There was nothing to dislike.
squeaky clean. very carefully decorated. in such a small apace, managed to have all amenities, even retractable clothes line in bath.
very, very tiny rm. 3 locked doors to get access to rm. not within walking distance of York attractions. need bus fare both ways.
Nothing was to much trouble the room was excellent and the cleanist i have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Booking to go back again in Nov this year with my daughter and her partner
Nothing to dislike
From the minute I walked in I was impressed, the cleanliness is outstanding and Milka and her colleague are lovely friendly people always smiling, nothing was too much trouble for them, which is great. I've stayed in too many places where the staff are downright rude and miserable. Our room was spacious and bright, there was traffic noise but we couldn't expect any less being on a busy road. We could walk into York and the pub round the corner was fantastic serving great meals. I just can't wait to go back again thank you Milka xx
Absolutely nothing couldn't fault a thing
Very friendly staff, very clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast. Tea/coffee & biscuits replenished daily. Would definitely return if we decide to stay in York again.
Just a couple of things could be improved. Firstly the hot water seemed to be only "hot" first thing in the morning, it was only warm by evening. Also the Wi-fi kept dropping out.
great spot for the races. lovely b&b friendly staff. nice clean rooms brilliant breakfast. will visit again thank you.
nothing to dislike
Staff, Milka & Amber are great helpful. Beautiful room, clean & comfy. Quality & choice of breakfast well above usual standard. Would visit again.
A fair way out of town but bus every ten minutes or so outside the door.
Position, staff (Milka was great), breakfast (selection better than most 3/4 star hotels).
Although well presented it was a little bit dated.
Clean and comfortable, quality furnishings, home away from home - pretty much perfect!
We had a charming and friendly welcome from George and Maureen. The upstairs rooms were very comfortable with everything you might need - fridge, iron, hairdryer, bottled water etc - and the breakfasts made for a good start to the day. Burswood is on the main road into York but the double glazing keeps the room quiet. The bus stop means the city centre is handy without taking the car.
The eaves upstairs means there is some bending required to reach parts of the room.
Great location for York (either 30 minute walk to centre or 10-min bus ride--bus stop 2-min walk from guesthouse), good breakfast with lots of options, excellent location for public transport, easy to find, free parking, tasty pub just one block away, friendly staff, welcome chocolates and biscuits with complimentary bottles of water.
Lots of spiders and webs in the room, room too cramped with too many odds and ends/unnecessary furniture, glasses at breakfast smelled like a fish pond (we could not drink from them), too many rooms--run more like a small hotel than a guesthouse (felt slightly impersonal).
A great service, exellent breakfast, comfy bed.
