pleasant surroundings with helpful staff
walk to house a bit rough. but considering it was a wor OKking farm
The lady running this establishment was brilliant, very helpful and kind.
Nothing thank you
We liked everything about Burton Farm it's away from the main roads and traffic noise, you can actually hear silence, which is a thing of the past, it is truly a piece of HEAVEN.
The only thing we didn't like was having to come away.
Lovely countryside location, peaceful. Nice bar / sitting room area. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Good breakfast.
Bathroom could do with full overhaul - in particular a shower cubical would suit modern travellers with families using this family room. Bathroom products were very basic. Option of feather pillows would be nice instead of just hollow-fiber. Luckily we had our own pillows from the car journey.
good location with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Close to Hope Cove (a must visit). We stayed in the family room (2 adults 13yr old and 7yr old) which was spacious and comfy. Overall a location that we felt was very good value for money.
Friendly efficient staff. Lovely breakfasts with good range of food on offer. A working farm yet handy position for hope cove.
Dirty bedroom windows. Tired random range of bedroom furniture. Needs shower facility.
While visiting friends at Salcombe we booked Burton Farmhouse for one night . We stayed in a room at the rear of the large house, it really is an access all areas place and we were well looked after and felt relaxed and welcome . We only had breakfast there but it was excellent . We would certainly return there.
The only thing that I could fault was a lack of free wi-fi but that is a minor flaw .
Shower room was very small
tricky to find
Lovely farm location. Olde worlde look. Views to Hope Cove from the fields. Nice breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Polite and efficient staff.
There was a certain lack of atmosphere. I'm not sure if we saw the owner or if it was just run by paid staff. The room didn't have a bath as advertised, just a shower room. No phone signal in the farmhouse and no internet connection anywhere on the farm :-(
If you want a very peaceful, off the beaten track but not isolated place to stay this is the one. Lovely lady who runs it and is very welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and bed nice and comfortable. Everywhere was cosy and clean. Would definitely stay again.
expensive for a rather down at heel farmhouse
The approach of all to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible with nothing to hide especially as it was the owners home with no restricted areas to visitors
The twin bed room was rather small for two single beds however the bed where comfortable and we slept well
Difficult to access
Location, friendliness of staff, character of farnhouse, good breakfast, lovely walks,
No bottled water in room in August, no hot chocolate, 1 packet of biscuits for 2 people, small room, very small ensuite
Location,gardens, staff customer service excellence
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere peaceful and relaxing.
clean tidy house and room, comfortable bed, great country atmosphere, good breakfast, friendly owners and staff. I stayed in a budget room but while compact it had all that I needed for my one night stay and was good value
mobile had no network coverage but then neither did Galmpton village nearby. Pay phone full of money and I therefore asked for and was readily given use of the house landline by the owners free-thank you
Friendly welcome and service. Good location for west side of Salcombe peninsular in secluded farm site.. Great breakfasts. Comfortable beds.
Single room was a bit cramped (but had all the facilities).
Lovely comfortable bed with a nice view out on to the garden. Good cooked breakfasts. The staff were friendly and would do anything for you but we didn't see them very often.
Although others were staying, the place always felt empty. No staff in the bar area - so you helped yourself and left a note. The place was extremely cluttered and looked tired.
Lovely house with character. Staff were very friendly. The family room was tastefully decorated, very comfy and spacious enough for 4 people
No mobile network
Very friendly staff, welcoming, beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was all cooked well and good service.
Uncomfortable mattress (we both rolled into middle of bed) , poor soundproofing between rooms, very dated decor in room.
the double bed in Lily was very comfortable, springy, lovely to sleep in. The front of the building and the farmhouse proper were very rustic and charming. The people were friendly.
it looked like there were some lovely rooms on the front of the building, but ours was in an extended section that genuinely looked like it doubled as a care home facility. there was a tv cable, but the tv had been removed from the shelf, the table lamps were 'burn out' with no lightbulbs. The view from the bedroom windows was grim, we were on the ground floor, with just a deep wall and climbers close to windows, and an outside store where staff collected things in the early morning and were walking past the bedroom window.
The accommodation is certainly not up to the standards expected. The single room was minute, had a pungent smell and no hot water. The cooked breakfast was a no choice affair, and was generally a very lacklustre affair.
Lovely location, excellent breakfast.
