. The receptionist in the morning was very apologetic and understanding. She deserves a medal. The evening of my arrival with my driver only three staff were seen. The receptionist was rather brisk and the two barmen doubling as waiters could be divided as one a learner and the other helpful. We ordered two steaks and about 25-30 minutes later received an apology for the delay but the chef was not happy with the first steaks and was preparing two new ones.Twenty minutes later when these arrived they were both done extremely well burnt We did not have anything else. The breakfast was the only satisfactory item. PS The steaks cost £18.50 each for a few chips, half a tomato and five small mushrooms. NEVER AGAIN.

Leaving ! Requested a quiet room away from traffic - Stayed in room 112 Tired decor, receptionist advised triple glazed - reality single glazed Advert states free Wi Fi - No Internet connection available during stay, most inconvenient . If no internet was available on advert I would not have chosen your hotel. Bath badly stained, ventilation fan filthy, Washbasin cracked and plug broken , chairs old and wobbly, matress on bed cheap low quality - one could feel the springs in ones back, damp stains on wall each side of window Could do substantially better - I should get a discount and a refund of card fee which I am certain was not shown on website price when booking. If you maintain this standard you will be bust in months !!

we were seeing friends for easter and we stayed there before and knew it suited our needs , as it was clean , friendley and good location. since last time we stayed at the hotel my husband is now in a wheel chair , we asked for disable room no worries but when we arrived we were taken out side round the back and down past were the delivers were delivered, up a path and throw a fire exit to our room , being told only disable room in hotel no lifts in hotel and we had to do this every time we ate or went out so not very happy as we were left to feel our needs were not meet as a more able body persons are ,and we would not stay in that hotel again

Good location.Large secure car park.Clean and functional.Food was served well and efficiently and was very nice. Lack of lounge type seating in the bar area ( sofas). No purpose built smoking area ( only the area immediately outside the front entrance doors - not good for smokers and probably an irritation to non smokers also ). Fax usage was chargeable and the bar prices were a bit too high, even for a hotel.Condiments and sugar/salt were in those annoying sachets that I can never seem to open without getting most of the contents all over the place and then there is never anywhere to put the empties other than on the table whilst you eat your meal.( How about a small "table bit-bin" for these on each table?) Please Note: These are not complaints but merely my own observation and opinion based on my recent visit.I Tend to stay away on business for about 150 to 200 nights per year at various uk locations and have stayed in accomadation ranging from small private bed and breakfast to 4 star luxury all singing and dancing hotels. I am not an expert and do not wish to claim to be, and would stay at this hotel again.

We thought all of the staff very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the hotel both evenings and really enjoyed our meals We would have been happier with a more comfortable bed. The mattress had seen better days, but as we were only there for two nights, we didnt worry about it.

Good location with a pleasant walk to the City Centre. Extremely poor fitments in room, old and dirty. Although efforts were made to clean efficiently, the sanitary ware in particular is so old and outdated it would be difficult to clean it effectively. There were also ants in the bathroom, probably due to the dampness underfloor where cracks were showing around all of the fittings. The bed, although large, was really lumpy and new mattresses are certainly required.

it was very good for the price there was two floors and we were on the bottom floor and even with the curtains open on a bright sunny day it was very dark and dull because of the over grown trees outside the window... felt very dingy.if i stayed there again i would request upstairs room as my friend had an upstairs room and was very bright

Staff very helpful and pleasant The place is what you expect, a Motel type of lodging. Was clean and comfortable but the food quality was poor. For breakfast everything pre- cooked, apart from the eggs and on the first morning much was unavailable, no hash browns, sausages, brown bread and butter also the juice is watered down, not fresh. Just a little expensive for what it was but English hotels are always overpriced.

We were attending a family funeral and the staff were very helpful providing us with directions to the crematorium. The bed was comfortable and we were impressed with the breakfast provided. It would have been nice to be able to buy a snack as we arrived backed after 9pm and the restaurant was closed. Some ready made sandwiches or hot soup would have been just the job.
