Location, 5 mins walk downhill from station. Central in town. Nice looking garden. Breakfast was fine.
Bedding was a bit old or had been through a bad wash so the 'fill' had clumped in places. Décor a little tired, although some of it is an old building
Clean comfortable room.
Staff helped me to print out some things i needed for free
Room wasn't available at check-in time and was cold when we entered
Had to rate the staff as good due to being woken up by the housekeeping at 8:30
Excellent service from all the staff. Superb breakfast. Nice lounge bar. Receptionist very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area.
The staff were very willing and polite. The dining room is attractive, as is the lounge and bar.
Our room was so dark I had to use an iphone to read and to find clothes in the wardrobe. We asked for more light and replacement bulbs were eventually given. Still far too dark. Side light only switched off at wall plug!! Desk bulb broke - bulb was left on desk to be replaced. It never was! The corridor to the room was freezing. Radiators were off - Like Siberia. Very unwelcoming to guests. The service for special request breakfast was appalling. 20 minutes wait for omelette or poached egg. Gave up asking after 3 days. Service generally was too slow. Tea bags were not replenished in our room and newspaper not delivered for the first 3 days of our stay. Overall very poor.
Being close to town
The hotel is looking tired and needs a good redecoration.
Location was great, right in the middle of farnham
Beds too soft, showers rubbish.
Very good breakfast, friendly helpful staff - v good car parking facilities - good ambience throughout the hotel - felt welcome - we will return the visit.
Good atmosphere in a period historic building. Very central, there aren't many in Farnham.
Nothing, served our purposes. Extra (expensive) additional charge for breakfast gave the room an artificially low price. Had breakfast at Cafe Rouge across the street instead.
The rooms were awful, really dirty! Nothing like the downstairs, could be something special. We did complain and they gave us £50 back, but will not stay here again! We were at my fathers till late and the plan was to only sleep there so we weren't looking for 'The Ritz' but this... Well it was hard to just be there a few hours!
good location and lots of room; clean despite the age of the bedrooms and furniture. handy for a weekend in Farnham
rather old and chilly. lacking in character despite the age - needs a good interiors person to give it a makeover
location and charakter of the hotel, very comfortable bed, complimentary coffee and tea
long wait at the reception, cleaning lady knocked at the door well before check out time.
Excellent location for the whole of Farnham Town and its restaurants.
Couldnt turn the cold tap off in the basin in the bath room.
Loved the log fires and excellent breakfast
Very poor lighting in the room
Excellent breakfast. Very nice bar-service. great location in the middle of Farnham, still very quiet place to stay. We have been there several times and will come back.
Some of the rooms are very old, could need some renovation, bathrooms included. More than two coffee-packs per person per day on a room would be nice.
Bloody cold. Non existent lighting in room. Dripping tap. Non working TV remote
Very clean. Double bed mattress was good quality.
Ignored our advance request for a twin room/2 singles. As a couple who have a king-size bed at home, we would have been much more comfortable with 2 singles. The room was very hot, no temperature control, able to open rotting window with difficulty. Luckily not on a road-side room.
Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff
location very near London 30 mins by train
Venue is good for my purpose.
Lack of help re WiFi and television operation.
The staff, and especially the Reception staff, were excellent. The grounds and position of the hotel are good.
Oh dear, how sad. Where is the cleaning staff? The common parts are grubby and dusty. The stair carpet is very dirty as are the landings. Shabby furniture on the landing. Take it away! No matter what, there is no reason for dirt.
There were works going on outside which meant we were woken up and when we got back to the hotel after our evening there was a fight going on between a couple that were staying at the hotel.
The second room (027). Worth £238. Better shower, nice room, newer fittings.
Original room (324). Very rough round the edges, chipped paint, toilet door warped/ stiff to open & close. Previous occupant's nail file on floor. Dirty finger marks in room & toilet. Marks on all the walls. Stains on the cushions. The size of the room for £238. Couldn't handle the sunday breakfast crowd. Poorly managed & understaffed on the Sunday.
