The spacious old historic building and the setting in the beautiful Sussex countryside
The pillows. That's because I'm used to down pillows. Hotels never have them.
Staff very friendly and organised. Our wedding anniversary was recognised and we received some treats. Gardens lovely. Very good dinner. Overall, a lovely hotel.
Crystal bar not very inviting, needs some touches to make it welcoming. Breakfast service could be improved.
Food & service @ dinner were excellent!
Double room was a bit small.
-very quiet location away from any traffic -excellent breakfast choices -very comfortable bed -room had useful fridge in the bedroom
-only one member of staff able to receive us at main reception desk (we had to wait a long time on arrival, as she was busy with a long telephone call) -absence of a swimming pool!
the restaurant food, the restaurant staff. -the sommelier and his team-. congratulations to the chef. the building and the park are gorgeous.
even I paid extra for garden view it wasn`t quite so. It was on the parking side but with some trees in front. If you stay more that one day pay and ask for have the park view because the park is splendid
Spacious room and friendly staff.
Wedding guests were served breakfast everyday in beautiful conservatory room while other hotel guests had breakfast in a small stuffy room at the back of the bar with no windows. Breakfasts were not good. No apologies for wedding guests partying until early hours of the morning. One morning we left the hotel at 5am and some guests were still going to bed. The carpets and the walls are showing the signs of a well used wedding venue. Not enough parking for hotel guests near entrance.
The restaurant, and room service.
Lack of facilities.
The main courses were I edible. The table adjacent had similar issues. At £38 for the least expensive Dinner menu this is unacceptable.
Receptionist offered to give me lift from train station - could not get a taxi from train station to hotel - perhaps in future hotel could offer a lift to visitors.
Found two handkerchiefs in "fresh" dressing gown. Perhaps laundry should check pockets of dressing gowns
Well appointed room, new, modern bathroom, excellent breakfast
Comfortable, reasonably spacious rooms; relaxed atmosphere; friendly and helpful staff; good breakfast
The country setting was quite nice. Breakfast was good (and staff there at least better than elsewhere). Air conditioning.
Frosty at reception. Took a lot of persuading to get help with the bags (despite no lift). Bartender refused to serve water after dinner (I guess she wanted an early night). Staff need better training. We are not doing them a favour staying. We are paying for it.Some of the decor was a little East European.
Staff was very good and accommodating, Yann, in particular was fantastic. Beautiful settings, excellent. Daughters is getting married at Chilston Park Hotel, hope that is as good as Buxted.
Apart from sink being blocked in the Winston Churchill suite, that's about it.
Very welcoming. Excellent food. Value for money.
The dining room was rather small but adaquate.
Convenient for our visit
Very helpful professional staff, good food, very comfortable room, excellent facilities. Beautiful hotel in lovely countryside.
The staff were polite, helpful and professional. The food was delicious and the rooms were very well presented and comfortable. An extremely enjoyable stay, thank you
Very Friendly Staff and beautiful setting
Out of date Milk and make up splodges on the bed runner
We were upgraded to a suite which was huge and beautifully appointed. The grounds are stunning.
Drinks were quite expensive.
Wonderful venue for a wedding and good VFM for luxury accommodation. Just do it.
Beautiful rural setting.
This is a professional, conference style hotel in a rural location. Forget any personal touches. We stayed on a Saturday night over the May bank holiday weekend, and there were 3 weddings there during our stay. The staff were completely focussed on the weddings and their guests, so the rest of the guests got little attention. It's a nice enough place, just oh so bland and lacking in personal touches.
We booked the Executive Double Room and it was perfect. Big bathroom, and we were right on the corner of the building so we felt as we were the only one's there. Perfect! They also had a wedding on, but never once did we feel like we were a burden. The grounds are amazing. We had the ala-carte meal in the evening and it was superb.
