Location The hotel is past it's best and is looking tired. The rooms, while nice are not luxurious - as the price would suggest. Given the wonderful location the restaurant location is poor and very disappointing we could have been anywhere in an enclosed space. I have stayed in a number of hand picked hotels and this one is catering solely for the wedding parties and if I had known, I would not have stayed there.

I liked everything with this hotel. If you look for this good relaxed feeling of staying in a grand country house then this is it. Decor is beautiful, the function rooms are stunning and the grounds gives you this "Pemberly" feeling. Breakfast was very good. I travelled with my one year old son but this was not a problem in this welcoming hotel. Interesting 12th century church on the estate. I will certainly come back. If you do not like this place you`d better stay home.

The setting ....wonderful. Staff....Welcoming, friendly, attentive & helpful. Room...clean and comfortable. Hope to visit again, but for a little longer. My stay wasn't long enough!!!!!

Good location in magnificent grounds with lake and countryside views. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food. Restaurant small, claustrophobic and tables too close together, with no windows (in great contrast with the rest of the hotel). Expensive extras stealthily added to dinner E.g bottle of water when tap water would have sufficed, sorbets between courses.

Dated decor, mediocre room, unhelpful staff, average food, massively overpriced. My advice would be to stay in the much nicer Buxted Inn down the road for half the price.

The staff were very welcomimg and friendly and the hotel was a very friendly place to stay. Our room was a ground floor room with a patio door into the garden which was great as it was a warm and sunny day and we cold walk staight into the grounds from our room.

We stayed as we were attending a wedding. The hotel and it's grounds are gorgeous and the staff were (mostly) very accommodating. Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of choice. Drinks for wedding guests were more expensive than in the main bar and we were not allowed to use this bar even when the queue for the hired bar was out the door!

Het hotel heeft heel veel charme. Het is gelegen in een heel mooi park. De kamers zijn verzorgd. Het ontbijt, de maaltijden in de bar en het eten in het restaurant is heel erg lekker. De kamers zijn nogal klein. Jammer dat het restaurant in een gesloten ruimte zonder vensters is. De prijs van het restaurant is ook prijzig.

The Hotel is full of history and is in a magnificent setting. When we arrived, they said they had not received our booking from Booking.com but we showed them our confirmation from you and they quickly sorted it out.
