Set within in its own attractive gardens, this modern 3-star hotel is ideally located on the outskirts of Stornoway, just across the road from the golf course leading onto historic Lews Castle grounds. Rightly known as 'Stornoway's finest hotel', the Cabarfeidh (pronounced cab-ar-fay) provides a relaxing base for both business and leisure travellers. It is also bookable for functions or meals in the Solas Restaurant. There’s a diverse range of shops, serving local and tourist needs. Visitor attractions include an excellent museum of local history, the Lewis Loom Centre where you can learn about the history of Harris Tweed and the delightful grounds of Lews Castle. The hotel is over rated and dated. Only stayed the one night and was up and gone before kitchen was open.

Very friendly staff, good food. Rooms comfortable and well equiped. Only stayed 3 nights but the same music was playing in the background, needs a bit of variety.

The ambience and its close proximity to the town. The evening meals are special, especially if you are into sea food. It is a great pity that there is no allowance made for breakfast if you are getting the early ferry which leaves at 7am.

The Staff at the Caberfeidh were always helpful, the cleanliness of the room was kept prestine. I didnt like the fact that the menu throughout the week stayed the same in the restauarant and there was nto a choice for vegetarians. There was one meal and thats it. I would have liked a pasta dish of somne sort that would atleast change the menu slightly. I had to dine out every night due to this. I would like for a refidgerator in the rooms for cold drinks as well.

It was comfortable but expensive for what it was. The restaurant was good albeit over-priced! No view which was a real shame. The prices were extortionate for what it was.

Very nice clean hotel The only let down was i booked to stay in a double room but was put in a twin room which was nice but paid the extra to get a double bed and didn't get it.

The bedroom was bigger and better than I thought it would be. We were checking out at 7am to catch ferry - rough seas and the night porter was so nice and went and got me some sea sickness tablets which I really appreciated. Breakfast was great. We also had dinner on our first night - while the food was presented really well we did not enjoy it and on second night made a point of going elsewhere for dinner.
