The food was always well presented and the service by the staff excellent and nothing was too much trouble Even though we had an executive double room we found it small and the whole decor was minimalist with not anything like enough space to store clothes and we were there only for two days !! The bathroom was small and very badly lit---not to the standard I would expect from such an hotel |

The breakfast was the best thing about this hotel. Even then there were no cereal spoons laid at the table consequently my corn flakes were soggy by the time the staff had located the spoons. The worst aspect was the perverse layout of room 412 where anyone in the room, if so inclined, could look into the en-suite and observe anything going on through the glass side of the shower area which was open to public view. How very strange !!! The room itself had no window to view the outside world - very claustrophobic. No text service on the TV. Extremely odd lift floor numbering arrangement where you pressed button 7 for the fourth floor. Very confusing until you got used to it and many other guests equally confused by the system where 6 meant 3 and so on. |

The hotel was located less than a mile from where we wanted to go early the next morning. The only point I would make is that our booking confirmation said our room would overlook woodland. In fact we only had skylight windows so the room was very dark. I did mention it to the Receptionist on checkout. She said if I had mentioned earlier we would have been moved to another room but I did not want to make a fuss. Maybe this can be checked out by Booking.com before informing people of this. |

Lovely setting, lovely room, good health club Rudeness of staff in the health club entrance area. Very unhelpful and made it very difficult for guests to enter the health club and get a towel and a gym key. |

Lovely old Country House ajoining the new part of the hotel, pity we didn't stay in that section. The two buildings are totalling mismatched. This felt like an upgraded "Travel lodge". Very impersonal and no real special touches to the establishment. It was stated that the H.Chef was trained by Gordon Ramsey... shame this was not reflected in the food. Just average. - Had to wait an hr for main course! Breakfast was a shambles, as items were well over-cooked, or had ran out and felt like a canteen. Definately not a 4 star... There was no attention to detail and service very automated... as for checking out of hotel this was done by a signature on the bill which was requested to be dropped in when passing reception. |

I booked this for my parents as I had stayed here myself before. Extremely helpful staff organised a taxi for them as they were travelling through Bristol Airport. |

The room but not some of the facilities within it. The spa was lovely although we had thought it was within the hotel and not a walk away.Breakfast was OK with reservations. Desgin and styling lovely and would recommend a stay with reservations about the wedding noise, and to avoid The Lounge. We asked for a quiet room as we were celebrating our anniversary. We were allocated a room right over the outside terrace and after the music stopped at 12.30am still had the noise of people socialising below. Wardrobes too short to hang long dresses or trousers, no convenient plug for kettle (no chocolate drink), bathroom basin tap badly placed/dsigned, no shower shelf for toiletries, shower screen to narrow for shower spray, Wifi not free, windows far too small, cannot see view unless standing,. Restaurant was occupied by a wedding reception so went to The Lounge and had soup which was like a thick puree/sauce, and the tortellini was like thick, hard rubber. Asked for a vegetable with it, waiter said "we don't do vegetables". Gourmet? |

The room was excellent ,also the breakfast facilities, plenty of choice in excellent surroundings The evening meal was terrible, Too much garlic,Unable to eat the meal Charged £5 for a bottle of Warm water, I should have complained at the time, but after driving 300 miles I just wanted a good nights sleep. |

We were delighted at the appearance of the hotel when we arrived. Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by friendly and efficient staff and there was an air of "something special", not your ordinary run of the mill hotel. We booked the hotel because we were flying from Bristol airport at 7.00 am and wanted an overnight stop close by. We were so impressed that we will return for a long weekend break very soon. |

Really could not fault the hotel or facilities, a very relaxing stay although the air conditioning on full blast throughout the hotel was a bit over powering even on the warmest of days |
