First class service
air conditioning in room was noisy
Only stayed one night but excellent for Bristol airport.
One lift and if weddings are on its very busy - we waited almost ten mins with luggage to get the lift to the 6th floor
It was awkward that the spa was separate from the hotel; I tried to phone a number for times to check opening hours and couldn't get directly through to the spa facilities. I also phoned the hotel to ask about food options as we arrived late at the hotel after work. I got through to the hotel they informed me they had no food/bar facilities open (late arrival) however when we got to the hotel this was incorrect. Having eaten breakfast at the hotel, then a wonderful evening at the Marco Pierre restaurant (no other food all day) I woke in the night with sickness all night and the following day. Our breakfast and lunch had to be cancelled, the hotel didn't sympathise or compensate in any way, even charging us fro breakfast that I couldn't eat. This ruined our weekend away and no one since has contacted us about this issue.
Staff Resturant Spa Bed Room
The thing I liked was the accommodation looked nice
Lots of noise music heard from upstairs at 1am in early hours of morning and no help with suitcase to room and bed very uncomfortable and felt I paid a lot of money for this room which I felt wasent worth that price
Room service delivered breakfast
The picture of cows in the bedroom
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Room was spacious, clean and exactly what was expected for deal. Spa was very nice, gym facilities a little daunting at first (it's huge!) but fun. Pool ok too.
Gym and spa are not attached to the hotel - meant a walk on an unlit road to get to them and not knowing exactly where we were going in the rain and dark was not pleasant.
It is always good at the double tree, but it is just the little things. The rooms are stunning, but the carpet in halls are awful. The breakfast and service good, but rubbish veggie sausages and they run out of mushrooms. Spa good but the steam room too cold and jacuzzi too much chlorine ..
See the 'what I liked '
Staff were friendly, & it was modern. The grounds were very pretty
The food was terrible and over priced. Rooms were small and cramped.
Plenty of free parking
Tiny rooms No bath only shower Food terrible Was like a poor airport hotel Hard to find Had to pay for "free " Internet which was painfully slow
Friendly staff at Reception and restaurant.
Public toilets in bar needs to be upgraded.Didnt look clean
Good choice for early flight from Bristol airport (10 mins) Food excellent quality. Very comfortable venue. Sports facilities excellent.
no complaints at all!
I travel reasonably regularly and have recently returned from a visit to the USA. However the service I received from staff at Cadbury House was far and away the best. the greeting at reception set the tone as it was professional and friendly. Throughly enjoyable
On arrival we were warmly welcomed, nothing was to much trouble, staff were friendly, cocktail bar was lovely. We ate in the lounge bar by the spa which was absolutely lovely, couldn't fault anything at all. Will defiantly return. Have now just booked to stay with the same company in Amsterdam :)
The staff were really nice and attentive we stayed here as my sister was getting married at the hotel and it was a lot eaiser than staying off site due to is having an 8 month old baby. The dinner was very nice in the evening.
Breakfast was awful no items that you could pre order or at least we couldn't find any. It was self service which you don't except from a 4 star hotel. The hot breakfast Buffett was as good as it can be deep fried sausages and hard fries eggs or scrambled eggs swimming in water. Their were never enough serving tongs which means you needed to cross contaminate just to serve your own breakfast and they were almost too hot too touch as they were left under the hot lamp so unable to pick most of them up. Also the pastries were very dry and stale so nearly inedible. Something needs to be done about the ground outside I slipped on the concrete holding my 8 month old son and I injured myself quite badly, luckily my son was okay but about 10 mins after the first aided sorted me out apparently someone else outside slipped. As I made my way out of the hotel after this incident then wet floor signs appear. Not very good health and safety and this is obviously a matter that needs sorting? I have stayed in plenty of hotels that are of less stars and a a lot less money and they were defiantly better value for money.
The staff were so professional and friendly. They could not have been any more helpful. Fabulous hotel and setting and top class restaurant.
Regret that I was only staying for one night!
Lovely location, beautiful grounds. Free parking. Beautiful original building. Staff very smiley and friendly.
The smell in reception and room corridors was like damp/wet carpets that had been masked with some sort of disinfectant. Not in the room or the bar though. Room service Club Sandwich at 9pm was very tough and chewy to the extent I couldn't eat it and I was in the British army for 15 years so I can eat anything! . Reception explained that this was because of "ordering that late at night" I suspect they perhaps meant that it had been made much earlier in the day.
Fantastic room and service, great value for money.
TV Was not working so I was offered frr films to watch which as it turned out were not working either. Bedside lamp bulb gone Steak well overcooked However after saying all of the above I have stayed here many times before and this is the first time I was not happy. I would have thought they would have offered some type of discount due to facilities not up to scratch. I am certainly not a something for nothing type of person but you do expect to receive twhat you have paid for. Perhaps they have new management ? Centainly not as good as it used to be.
views from the front of the hotel the grounds the restaurant the room
our only reservation is that maybe the rooms should have better sound insulation from Bristol airport's early morning take offs!
Staff very helpful - couldn't do enough for you Food at Marco Pierre White restaurant very good
TV didn't work in first room - room changed very promptly by staff Not enough pictures of Marco Pierre White in his restaurant Breakfast very hectic
Clean comfortable hotel environment stylish rooms Spa facilities convenient for Bristol airport and the city while still in a country location
Public spaces too small for number of hotel guests so bar, restaurant, breakfast service all a bit busy and hectic with people looking for tables and service
View from room. Wedding breakfast and evening buffet was good and tasty.
Room not made up from previous occupant. Hotel like a rabbit warren and it was very difficult to fine rooms, the signage does not reflect room/ floor numbers. Stairwells smelly and grubby/greasy. Corridors have ill fitting carpets which could have cosequences for people with poor mobility/visual impairment.
Restaurant prices on the high side, room was a little dark.
Room lighting poor, see-through wall between bedroom and shower. Breakfast unimpressive, not as good as other Hiltons.
