Situated just 1700 ft from Newmarket’s bustling main street, Cadogan Hotel is a family-run, 19th-century building steeped in history. It has a quiet restaurant serving a range of locally sourced and international dishes. It is rumored that King Edward VII enjoyed visiting Cadogan Hotel so much that he built secret passages from the hotel to his room at Palace House. These days, guests at Cadogan can enjoy the cozy lounge area, which features a TV, a DVD player, and a selection of books to read. Free Wi-Fi is available in many rooms and in public areas of the hotel. Free on-site parking is also available. Hotel Rooms: 12

Our hosts Julie and Kevin made us feel so welcome and at home the moment we walked through the door. The hotel was very homely and it was as if we had been before. Location close to the town yet very quiet set back of the road. Room was great and a huge bed, best night sleep I have had away from home. Breakfast is very hearty, as are the restraunt meals so do not be affraid to ask for a smaller portion, it was overall a very good stay and we will be back. Highly recomended. *****

The owners were really helpful and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We had an 'apartment' for want of a better word as we were 3 adults. It was lovely. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

Very friendly staff. Meals were very good standard. We had two rooms, one was in excellent order, but the other was rather tired and in need of improvement. Shower took a long time to get warm and mould evident in places. Bed rather small.

Close to Newmarket town center. Cheap. Will remind you of Fawlty Towers in decor. Very 70's and worn and scruffy around all the edges. Hotel was empty other than ourselves when we stayed there despite all the other local hotels being full. Should have realised why ;) Internet connection erratic which will effect a lot of people these days.

The location of the hotel was very good, we were able to see the race horses and get into town easily. The staff that we saw were very friendly and helpfull. The room was very comfortable for the short stay that we had. Breakfast was very good.

As this was a return visit, it felt almost like coming home as the owners recognised me and were very pleased to see me again. Stayed this time in a single room, small but well appointed, with lovely spacious modern bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed fresh cooked dinner, good size portion too of local produce - I cleaned the plates!

Although I booked to stay at the hotel, I left within half an hour of my arrival. The conditions were extremely poor. There was no sense of cleanliness. There were "things" actually crawling on the bathroom floor. Need I say more. One of the most disappointing hotels I have seen. It should be stripped of its hotel status.

Friendly owners, very close to town centre, good breakfast. Our room, and the rest of the hotel is really in need of redecorating.

Within walking distance of Newmarket High Street. I was very disappointed during my stay in The Cadogan Hotel. I understand the hotel is old fashioned but one could still clean it. I haven't stayed in a dirtier room ever! The carpet was disgraceful and I had to ask twice for it to be hoovered. The window ledges were coated in dirt and dead flies. The breakfast crockery and cutlery was rinsed not washed - my tea cup had tea dribbles on the outside from the past user. Also I felt £75 per night was too high, especially as I could see in the diary that other residents were charged £65 per night.
