Amid 27 acres of parkland, surrounded by the Irfon River, Caer Beris Manor Country House Hotel is a beautiful country retreat in Builth Wells, near highway A483, on the Breacon Beacons. In the heart of the Welsh Countryside, Caer Beris Manor is perfectly placed for a relaxing weekend break, with tranquil surroundings and fine dining. And yet all less than 3 hours from Manchester, Birmingham and London. Returning guests say that as you turn in through the gates and start up the long drive, the cares of the world seem to disappear. Set in a commanding position above the parkland as it sweeps down to the river, Caer Beris Manor dominates the landscape. After a warm welcome, relax in one of the comfortably furnished lounges, complete with roaring log fires throughout the winter. Hotel Rooms: 23

Lovely Grounds and location I requested 4 days prior to our arrivial if it would be possble to book in 2 hours prior to the booking in time as we had a funeral to attend, On arrivial this had been overlooked, however a room in the same style as booked was ready so we had this, however the room for the rate was small and poorly designed, Flooring in the bathroom was loose and was sticking up, the shower I was unable to stand up at 5ft10" this was very strange and the view overlooked the staff smoking area and rubbish collection point.

I liked the quirkiness of the hotel - it was not done up all in one style like the chain hotels and was very individual. I liked the public space too.Best of all was the friendliness of the staff - nothing was too much trouble and we liked the chef coming walking round and talking about the food.

Nice location.... friendly staff.... interesting house and grounds Room very cramped and poor value for price. Hotel would be fine if you were fishing, you would get good value with the free fishing on the Irfon.

The friendlyness of the Hotel Staff also the cleanliness of my room. My ev ening meal was disappointing also, whilst there was an excellent choice for breakfast, the hot buffet was lukewarm again disappointing. This I felt had changed from my visit last year when the food was excellent. I would stay at this hotel again - perhaps it was an 'off night' for food

The staff here were really fantastic; friendly, welcoming, highly professional - a total slick outfit. The rooms were nicely decorated, comfortable, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who accommodated even the most bizarre requests with willingness and a smile. The hotel itself and it's grounds are stunning. We did not sample the restaurant but the breakfast & sandwiches we ordered one lunchtime in the drawing room were great. The breakfast is served in a beautiful Tudor panelled dining room. I look forward to many repeat stays at this beautiful hotel when visiting the area. I hesitate to find any fault, as this is a great hotel, but, in the interests of giving other visitors a full picture, we did find that the water pressure and shower were not great. Adequate - but not great. The bathroom in our double room was very attractive but a little impractical, without anywhere for us to put washbags or other things around the basin. Also, the hotel seemed a bit over-heated during the day and a bit cold and un-heated at night. But these are tiny gripes in an otherwise fantastic stay.

A beautiful traditional hotel with lots of period features. Very friendly staff Would stay again. The dining room was too quiet at breakfast, perhaps some background music would be good when it is quiet and not many guests

Good first impression, made to fell welcome by pleasant attentive staff.comfy public areas and picturesque surroundings.good tourist information available Room allocated in need of updating and did not resemble website photos,no heated towel rail in bathroom and chilly.poor soundproofing meant boiler audible constantly and could hear noise from kitchen below and other guests until early hours. Unadventurous dining menu and breakfast basic, shame no morning goods had expected better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the room was very clean and comfortable. Surrounding were beautiful set in 27 acres of parkland we took a long hour walk around it was very relaxing even on a very cold day ! It is a short drive to the town centre so we took a look around the centre but then went back to the hotel to relax again. Food excellent and the chef's come out to take your order ! all staff were very efficient and friendly and could not do enough for you. We run a pub and dont get away very often and we were the only ones staying in the hotel so it was lovely and quiet and very relaxing. Definately recommend a stay at the Caer Beris you won't be disappointed!

This hotel nwas chosen as the best in the area when staying at Buith Wells. On arrival the staff were excellent and so welcoming. The choice of food during the evening was excellent both in its quality and presentation. In the morning the breakfast exceeded all expectations. I chose the cooked breakfast and was suprised that instaed of having two rashers of bacon I had what can only be described as three gammon steaks. It was excellent and a great start to the day. Well done Caer Beris Manor!!

Nice homely atmosphere in main parts of the hotel. Log fire, attentive service etc Room was extremely hot and windows didn't open fully. Very creaky floorboards outside the room. Not much sleep during the night. For the price of the room I thought the decor and furniture within the bedroom was quite tired.

I've stayed here before 6 years ago for a conference. The food and service is just as good and personal. The bedroom I had had been upgraded/refurbished to a high standard. I was able to remove the mirror from a dressing table and then able to use that to work on. Wifi is available and free.

Room and bathroom was full of flys. They said it was because of the change of weather a warm spell. I think the room should have been checked that day before we arrived. Also a lot of dust in room, had not been checked or re cleaned for a few days.

Peaceful and quiet, clean room and friendly staff Being charged for having a dog in our room. You have to clean it anyway and she did not make any more mess than a human would, so why were we charged without being told.?
