It is a romantic period country manor house located at the end of a long winding drive, the staff are very attentive & friendly, the rooms are furnished in attractive style of the period. The grounds are extensive and the riverside location affords excellent views.

The food portions were too large, to the point of being off putting.

Our decision to stay at Caer Beris was something of a "shot in the dark", in the sense that we "Googled" hotels in and around Builth Wells, and this appeared to best suit our needs. In the event, it turned out to be an inspired choice; the location, the service, the staff, the room comfort and the meals were all, in our opinion, of a very high standard, and the value for money exceptional. We would have no hesitation in returning there, or recommending it most enthusiastically to anyone.

Fantastic location. Very quiet, safe and fabulous views. Originally offrered a room that was either occupied or not made up so was quickly offered a key to what I presumed to be the 'honeymoon suite'. Very much looking forward to the 'jet-bath' in the morning. Excellent breakfast - home cooked fare and came in good time. The 'jets' did not work:( Also took an eternity for the bath to fill up.) WIFI was unreliable. Could not connect up initially - only after system re boot did it connect and very poor reception so constant disconnects.

location was lovely and the people were very pleasant The vegetarian meals were weak - the main course pasta dish that I chose was basically pasta with ratatouille and grated cheese not terribly imaginative. re breakfast: was served poached eggs on toast with a slimey bit of onion and a pea, i presume the chef was using dirty utensils? the situation was swiftly remedied by the staff but still not very nice. Basically liked the hotel but it needs a new chef.

It was just as it had been described, it s a beautiful place. The staff were helpful and more than friendly. The chef (Al Murray look alike ha! ) made us some really nice food. Thankyou. Our only problem was the four poster bed sagged in the middle a lot. And it was very hard Thus resulting in a very uncomfortable night. It seemed ok just relaxing on the top, it wasn't until we got in for a night's sleep. It was a shame. When we arrived at the hotel with our printed out booking confirmation they had not received our details, so it was fortunate they did have a room for us. It could have been that I had only booked the day before going.

It has a wonderful setting, and has a unique charm. The rooms are in need of some modernisation, but it has a feel of a stately home.

Characterful building in a wonderful location on a bend in the river. The staff were keen, friendly and helpful but a little disorganised, especially at breakfast. Room and bed were on the small side but adequate for a one night stay. Didn't like the chef wandering around the dining room every 20 mins.

Good first impression, made to fell welcome by pleasant attentive staff.comfy public areas and picturesque surroundings.good tourist information available Room allocated in need of updating and did not resemble website photos,no heated towel rail in bathroom and chilly.poor soundproofing meant boiler audible constantly and could hear noise from kitchen below and other guests until early hours. Unadventurous dining menu and breakfast basic, shame no morning goods had expected better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the room was very clean and comfortable. Surrounding were beautiful set in 27 acres of parkland we took a long hour walk around it was very relaxing even on a very cold day ! It is a short drive to the town centre so we took a look around the centre but then went back to the hotel to relax again. Food excellent and the chef's come out to take your order ! all staff were very efficient and friendly and could not do enough for you. We run a pub and dont get away very often and we were the only ones staying in the hotel so it was lovely and quiet and very relaxing. Definately recommend a stay at the Caer Beris you won't be disappointed!

This hotel nwas chosen as the best in the area when staying at Buith Wells. On arrival the staff were excellent and so welcoming. The choice of food during the evening was excellent both in its quality and presentation. In the morning the breakfast exceeded all expectations. I chose the cooked breakfast and was suprised that instaed of having two rashers of bacon I had what can only be described as three gammon steaks. It was excellent and a great start to the day. Well done Caer Beris Manor!!

Nice homely atmosphere in main parts of the hotel. Log fire, attentive service etc Room was extremely hot and windows didn't open fully. Very creaky floorboards outside the room. Not much sleep during the night. For the price of the room I thought the decor and furniture within the bedroom was quite tired.

I've stayed here before 6 years ago for a conference. The food and service is just as good and personal. The bedroom I had had been upgraded/refurbished to a high standard. I was able to remove the mirror from a dressing table and then able to use that to work on. Wifi is available and free.
