Cafe Valance Bar & Rooms  

Cafe valance is trying very hard, it offers something a little different from the norm (in a nice way). Bedrooms are comfortable, lovely bed linen and bathrooms very luxurious. Breakfast was good even though it wasn't a cooked breakfast, plenty of choice with cereal, yogurts, pastries etc. would definitely stay again. Thanks to Andy, Nic and team.

Just about everything really, lovely room (had best available) owners lovely couple, nice bar/cafe onsite easy access to Gower and Swansea city centre.

Breakfast not specified as continental (although it was a pleasant continental breakfast), no sign of mentioned sausage??!! Also possibly a little on the pricey side but really lovely nonetheless.

Central location for local shops and the sea. Very comfortable bed. Room and bathroom clean and well furnished.

We stayed in the dearest room(Langford) @ £135 per night. It was listed as an executive room. The room was a fair size with a lovely bathroom. Our stay was from Friday through to Tuesday. Our executive room was above the Cafe Valance bar and looked out onto the road. On the other side of the road was another bar and so on Friday and Saturday night it was very noisy outside. There was not an option of closing the windows because the room would have been too hot. In the mornings from 4:30am lorries/vans would stop and deliver to the newsagent/general store two doors down which woke us up every morning. Overall although we were happy with the Cafe Valance Bar and Rooms and it's staff we felt that £135 per night was too high for the disrupted nights we had. To reach the rooms you had to go up outside stairs (difficult with cases) and the walkway was slippery if it had been raining. Parking was in short supply although having said that we always managed to get a spot but I don't think all the rooms were being used.

The atmosphere created by all the staff and the "cafe romance of the bar areas". I must have lost 25 years off my age! When the "Guys & Girls" from the annual Rugby Sevens arrived it was like being back at university; it was great. It should be noted that Cafe Valance also provide a small private bar area for residential guests; once again, this is furnished in accordance with the cafe style. Cafe Valance is small, but it emits a friendly welcome & a beauty lost at traditional venues. We will advise our friends & collegues to consider the Cafe Valance when visiting the Swansea/Mumbles area of Wales.

friendly, relaxed and an excellent location. Food and drink excellent.

Just a tiny little request a light would be good when using the key at night as it was very dark but this in no way detracted from a lovely stay.

Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms comfortable and clean but on the small side. Breakfasts very good.

Very little parking. Restaurant only open 4 nights per week.

The room was very contemporary and tastefully decorated. It was light and airy and very clean and the bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The place was surprisingly sumptuous compared to the exterior image of the property. I would definitely go there again.

If I was to complain about anything it would just be that the cost was rather high for just bed and breakfast.
