The Rooms have been refurbished to a very good standard. The TV's are of a generous size to each room and the picnic basket of teas maid items was a nice touch. So different from last year when nothing was level, everything placed on the glass tray in the en-suite rolled into the sink and drawers fell away in your hand. The "new" rooms are a joy.
Pity about the breakfast. I was expecting a continental but it desperately needs a bit more variety. If you are above 2m in height beware of the featured copper light fixture in reception. You ARE going to walk into it!! (nice fitting but hanging too low)
hotel having a refit, what has already been carried out is to a very high standard
Rooms have been refurbished very recently to a very good modern quality.
Parking is an issue
Continental breakfast was terrible. The only thing that could have improved our stay would have been a cooked full english breakfast !
Location is good, 2 minute walk to metro stop, clean and friendly.
Info in room shows that during week they serve full English as an option for breakfast which my partner wanted, however at breakfast on morning told that English was never available and only continental, therefore information in room in conflicting. also, TV had no remote so could only be controlled from buttons on side meaning there's no chance off lying in bed to watch if you aren't settled on one channel.
The Standard of the room was excellent except for temperature, Food Excellent, Staff Excellent
Car park was a problem with limited spaces. Room was freezing on arrival and took two days to warm up. Small heater on wall was insufficient.
The restaurant very tasty cuisine and lovely staff, decor was love and the friendly doorman and barstaff
The receptionist smoking outside while we waited at reception. The room was freezing, and we had to sit on an angle on the toilet as my legs wedged up on the shower cubicle
lovely modern hotel, just been refurbished, excelent choice for breakfast, great location.
Location Room decoration
The hotel was still under going some renovation. Decorators, builders, plasterers in the walkways with dust sheets on the stairs. not mentioned on this website when i made the booking. Booked an Exec Double was given a Standard.. Power went off in the room in the morning with water dripping through the bathroom ceiling. Bathroom was freezing despite heating turned on, floor too cold to stand on. shower sprayed water out of the cubicle and onto the floor. Offered use of another room in the morning to get showered and this one looked as though it had previously been used also... smelt with a dirty toilet. Breakfast was nothing special, cheap bread, coffee etc and the staff could at least have pretended to be joyful in thier work. Had to revisit reception to pick up a TV remote as they dont leave them in the room or tell you this in the room info, speant half an hour trying to turn the tv off. Insufficient complimentary tea and coffee. On checkout they were more bothered about needing that room for that night as they were fully booked. I was thanked for my patience... To sum it up - dont bother as they obviously dont appreciate their paying guests, you know the people who make thier business possible.
Room has lovely
Room was not cleaned overnight, tea/coffee not topped up. Staff at breakfast were overworked
- good location - facilities ok (renovated rooms)
- renovation is taking place at this hotel at the moment. No information about this up front - poor customer service. I stayed there 2 nights and heating was not working (frost during the night). The receptionist didn't want to change my room but gave me a heater insted. There is lots of hotels on the same street- I think I'll try my luck elsewhere. Poor customer service is the best way to loose clients.
the rooms where very modern and large enough. Bathroom facilities were very good and modern. The breakfast was continental, but very good, although my husband would have preferred full English.
bump bump music from the bar downstairs until the early hours, but we were on the first floor, and it was the weekend, although it didn`t stop us sleeping.
no cooked breakfast
Lovely friendly staff and very helpful
No cooked breakfast on a Sat, Sun or Monday morning when most guests would be staying. I think when paying £40.00 each per night the hotel could offer more than continental breakfast.
Rooms were refurbished well
Reception staff were slow and un-knowledgeable. We needed to leave a damage deposit in the 21st century and then wait 30 minutes on check out so that they could check the rooms. No residents bar
The rooms are really nice, well decorated with nice little touches like built-in music with bedside controls and a fridge in your room. The Berlise bar and Sohe restaurant are both accessible through reception and are really nice for a drink or a bit to eat.
Still being renovated but all of the decorators were very pleasant and they weren't banging around at the crack of dawn! The door at the top of the stairs on the first floor needs a rubber damper. We were staying in room 203 (which is right next to the door) and we could hear the door every time it opened and closed.
The hotel was in renovation process, the rooms were new. The shower was lovely.
The rooms were very small, if room 211 is an Executive Double they really need to re classify. Between the window and the side of the bed was only 300mm approx, we couldn't both pass each other at the end of the bed as there wasn't any room. The Air Conditioning unit, which was brand new, did not work. The room was freezing when we went in, we left a small heater on to warm it through when we came back it was red hot but we could not dissipate the heat. On looking back at booking.com, these were obviously double rooms.
Internet could be faster. Breakfast could have more variety. I'm 100% sure I left my India to UK adapter in my room after I checked out,but later on when I inquired about it, it was not found. I'm not blaming the hotel or staff, but it should have been found. I had bought it a week ago for 7 quids after I arrived in the UK a week ago.
Ideal location, taxi straight there and back from the concert, staff very friendly and would stay there again.
Hotel location Bar facilities Bedroom comfortable Bathroom stylish
No cooked breakfast
The tiny, pokey little double room for £90.00 for one night The dirty toilet we were presented with upon changing rooms The poor (virtually non existent) choice of breakfast - including no coffee. Went round the corner instead.
Staff very helpful.Reasonable walking distance of City Centre. I was happy with the continental breakfast on Sat (continental only on Sat & Sun) nice croissants and coffee, but my brother missed a full english! Real ale on draught at the bar.
Sunday breakfast a bit chaotic, things were running out by half nine-ish. Walls a bit thin. Back entrance grotty as refurbishment has not got that far yet.
Particularly helpful reception staff Contemporary design Some car parking.
no cooked breakfast available at weekends. Huge TV in the middle of the ceiling in our room - facing the wrong way.
Lovely room with everything you need. Lovely shower
