Food in restaurant was nice and good value. Restaurant is separate from the pub.
We booked the place since it looked like a cozy country side hotel. It seems that weekends are more focused for locals than for hotel guests. The one man band started before our dinner was over and did not finish until after midnight. It was impossible for us to be in the tiny pub while music was on, and we could hear the words in the hard rock songs to our bedroom. Must say it put us off staying there again. Rooms are also renovated unskillfully and look likely to be in need again of renovation soon.
Food was good, the staff were really friendly the room was very clean, warm and comfortable with a stunning view. A great time was had with our stay.
The food was very good
The bed was a bit creaky but fairly comfortable
the location set in a quiet village off the A83,i had a room facing the loch, the room was clean and bed comfortable, bathroom was average size with bath and shower. the inn has a lounge and a cosy bar,no juke box so you could talk to the staff and locals with out shouting
had a bar meal, steak and ale pie chips and peas was told it would be about 20 minutes, when it did arrive it was horrible, the meat was pink and the peas i think were frozen.so did not order any more meals.
We like the location, cosy atmosphere and friendly people. The serve good bar food at reasonable prices. Great room this time in the separate building with nice ensuite.
We had a room in the separate building. This is a great nice room with view over the lake. But through the in between door you can hear the other guests breath. Not nice if you are not related. Maybe it is possible to make some extra insulation in case rooms are rented seperately.
All of the staff were excellent and very helpfull
Staff very attentive. We had trouble with our iPad and a very pleasant girl fixed it. The food was good and service excellent. Views from our room and dining room of Lock Fyne outstanding.
Location on the bank of the loch with superb views. The food in the restaurant was perfectly cooked and the price was not unreasonable. Wonderful comfy bed gave us a brilliant night's sleep. Large bathroom with separate bath and shower. Staff who were attentive, helpful and friendly, without being intrusive.
I can't think of one thing which I did not like
We enjoyed clean, comfortable rooms, a wonderful restaurant with excellent views of the loch, and a top-notch, friendly pub, all in the same quirky, interesting, old building. Also loved the tree park just up the road. Absolutely beautiful!
Very scruffy and overwhelming smell of damp. Appalling decor..extremely noisy floorboards which kept us awake. No hot water..ridiculously overpriced.
View on the loch
Restaurant is o.k., but not exciting.
Excellent evening meal and good breakfast. Comfortable room and very pleasant staff. Nice outdoor garden with lovely loch view.
We paid a little extra for a view and had a beautiful room with an en-suite (including a jacuzzi bath), balcony and the most amazing view over the loch! Fabulous!
The restaurant attached to it was not that good...just OK we thought.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The evening meals were excellent and the service from staff. Jay is a real asset to the buisness.
The breakfasts were disapointment. The hotel being situated where it is could use more local produce.
the location and the ambeince of the hotel. a great mix of people local and visitors.
The location was stunning, stagecoach in nice inside our rooms was in the new bit with five rooms next to it and where lovely, outstanding food and breakfast.
Returned after another 20 years and really enjoyed our one night in a very comfortable room. The Inn has been made over a lot since our first stop in 1974 and we couldn't fault it.....a bit dearer than our normal budget but easily compensated for by the prices for dinner which were extremely reasonable and my venison was brilliant and they didn't stint on the portions. We will be back.
Only one minor grumble caused by inconsiderate guests (their children) above us dancing around until 2300.
Location, surroundings and food were superb. No problem too difficult for the staff.
The staff were very good Food excellent, The location very good.
The staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room had a huge bed, an enormous tv and a whirlpool bath.
We wanted somewhere really charming for our wedding anniversary. The block where our superior room was housed was like a motel (with guests' cars parked right in front of each room) and the view from the balcony was not really of Loch Fyne but of the lane running past. It was all lacking in style and class with a gloomy and strange restaurant and a smoky pub with a dreadful live band that went on into the night and could be heard from our room. There must be a dozen more attractive places to stay on Loch Fyne. I wish we had chosen one of them instead.
The staff were more than excellent - helpful, cheery and good at their jobs. Couldn't be better. The food in the restaurant was good too - they coped with different dietary requirements without a fuss and it was very tasty.
The room was like stepping into the 70s - it needs a refresh. I understand that this costs lots of money, but the hotel would be great if it was updated. Simple things such as re-sealing around the bath would make a huge difference, but really it is a lovely hotel which has fallen behind in the modernity stakes.
Staff were very attentive and friendly Well appointed room with a view of the loch Comfortable large bed Excellent food A very good family run hotel
