It was a short walk to the heart of the city with restaurants nearby. The room backed onto a courtyard and was quiet the first night. Our first night only cost 41 pounds. Unlike many Scottish hotels the bathroom was very modern with a tiled, not carpeted floor. The walls were very thin so the loud cleaners who came early in the morning disturbed us as they talked. Also, the floor above was very squeeky. |

I really liked the friendly staff at the hotel! The location of the Hotel is really good - very central. The bath room were not quite clean as well as some of the towels... It was a shame that the window could not be opened because some fresh air in the room would have been nice. |

I liked the manner in which the hotel staff dealed with the patrons. We weren't satisfied with the room we initially were given and when this was brought to the attention of the staff they were very accomadating to this and changed our room. I liked the location of the hotel. |

I really liked the friendly, helpful staff! The hotel was fairly close to the city centre. It was quite cold in the room and the heater didn't work. I asked the staff numerous times to fix it and finally on the third day, they gave me a small portable heater which helped. It didn't smell fresh in the room, the TV and the bed were tiny which didn't make for a comfortable stay. I thought that 50 pounds a night was too high, but I guess that everything is so expensive in Edingburgh. |

the location The bathroom could have done with a good clean and the quilt could have been done with replacement. Cleaners need to do a much more thorough job! |

Staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is expensive but good. Mattress was old with springs poking out, extremely uncomfortable. Had to change room. In the second room the heater was covered with towels burning my 3yo daughter's arm when she touched it. No warning signs or anything. |
