the location for main shopping areas and enertainment is ideal for long weekend trips. the room was very basic ie; there was no dressing table in the room so the phone was placed on a stool by the window. |

Very clean and friendly with comfortable bed but not enough electrical sockets. No socket to use laptop on the desk or boil kettle near teamaking facilities. Overall very good. |

Staff were nice, approachable and obliging. While hotel was clean it was a bit shabby and worn, particularly the carpets. |

Very handy for the centre of the city. Only 10 minutes from the railway station. The furnishings were becoming dated. |

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location at the foot of Calton Hill, great for the Old Town, New Town and Leith. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking. |

Cheap and easy. Water pumps hum a lot. Walls pretty thin. Returning your keys every time you leave gets annoying. |

Friendly staff, nice bar and lounge area, free tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the rooms, nice bathroom. No choice of whether you wanted your towels changed everyday of not. Tv in room didn't work. Window in room was open when arrived and difficult to close. |

The location is quite convenient. The bathroom/shower as too many moldy corners that could had been taken care of and the old TV offered only 4 channels. |

It's a quiet place so I can get a good sleep there. It's also near the city centre. Good price to stay. |

This was a very good value for money place. Centrally located, about 15 minutes walk from Prince's St. Near shops, restaurants, cafes. Near to Carlton Hill. Room was very comfortable and clean. Free wi-fi in room. All in all, I was very satisfied with my stay here. I had read some negative reviews on booking.com but I had no major complaints. Staff were OK but not very friendly in general. |

The accommodation was more like a hostel than a hotel and the evening staff were not very helpful. There is only stairs which is not very accommodating for people with back problems as you may have to lug your bags up three flights of stairs. |

It was very quiet. Although it was turned to the street, there was almost no trafic to hear. Bathroom was renovated, and it was over my expectations. It is a great locations to explore the city. Our room was a bit to small and it can be cleaner, especialy the carpet in our room. Our Friends in the neighbour room had a much better room, so probably there are more different room sizes. Otherwise I can recomend it for a city break stay |
