Food was brilliant No shortage of friendly staff
On the nights that I stayed the water for the shower could have been a bit hotter, but I was offer a replacement room straight away.
Very Nice hotel, great value and the restaurant food was superb especially for the price (3 courses for £12).
Good location just off main road.
Booked something like a premium deluxe room but was no different to any other standard hotel room I've stayed in. Some staff weren't too attentive in the dining area and came across a bit rude at reception but all other staff we dealt with were pleasant.
Staff were very friendly. Food was good + good value for money
Pets allowed in rooms but not in any public area. Agree with eating areas being out of bounds but means pets are left in rooms at all times
Greeting when booking in. Super friendly staff.
Rock hard bed. Paper thin walls. Not being able to get a table to eat being told should have booked to eat. constant noise from motorway fixtures and fittings poor repair (window catch broken) window frame rotten. Doors slamming in corridor from drunken people
Staff were excellent. Food was excellent and reasonably priced.
Room was a wee bit cramped with wardrobe real close to one of the beds. Out of town location won't suit everyone.
hotel good staff v good nowt more to say.
Dinner, excellent value and very good
On member of the dinning room staff let the otherwise fantastic staff down.
As always the warm friendly attitude of the hotel and staff.
Nothing to dislike.
Breakfast was especially good with friendly helpful staff.
nice friendly helpful staff clean and comfortable room dining room well presented food to die for.
staff was very friendly and knowledgeable the evening meal was very good value.
nothing about it dissapointed .
Late check in time!
The room wasn't very clean and bed was not atall comfortable.
Very clean and tidy. Good food at a decent price.
Room was a little smaller than I expected.
Staff bent over backwards to help, the room was clean and catered for all our needs. The bed was comfortable and the facilities in the room were ideal for a short stay. We had a 3 course meal in the hotel which only cost £12 per head. At that price I didn't expect the quality of the food or service to be as high as it was. The buffet style breakfast in the morning was excellent and catered for all including vegetarians.
The deco was a little tired looking and the Sky tv switched off a few times. Not really anything to complain about.
The hotel has a great atmosphere, homely, comfortable, friendly. The staff make you feel so welcome. Superb menu and very inexpensive.
Although we were a couple only, we were put into a family room, I feel this made the space in the main bedroom was compromised and would have been happier if we had been given a doubl room that would possibly have had more space.
The staff were very helpful and friendly , the reception staff and the waitress at breakfast , but also especially the night porter , who made us feel very welcome after a late return to the hotel after New Years eve celebrations
Great choice for breakfast at the Cairn Hotel. The staff are always friendly, attentive and professional. Even working on New Years morning they were still smiling.
Mattress in room 216 a bit lumpy.
Pleasant staff and good facilities for an overnight stay. It is situated not far from the motorway - well signposted and convenient. Rooms were clean and fresh. Public areas and restaurant are also good. It is located in an industrial area, but that wasn't a problem. Hotel is probably a 60s build, but has been updated since. Although there was a private party with live music on, that was not intrusive in the bar area or in our rooms when we went to bed. Altogether to be recommended
We stayed here as we were attending a wedding in Bathgate. There was nothing very bad or very good about this hotel and it did the job and suited our needs.
We went down for breakfast at 09.25 to be told that hot breakfast had finished, even though we were told it was on until 09.30. Eventually the lady went to ask the chef to turn the grill on again but by this time we decided not to bother and to just have the cereal. There was a basic choice of cereal and tea/coffee with toast and a few danish.
The staff and atmosphere of the hotel is good. Restaurant is excellent value for money and food presentation good.
the breakfast & the evening meals were all very good, the staff were pleasant & attentive. the room was warm & bathroom was clean, the hot water was hot ,not like other hotels.for me who stays in hotels every week this is up with the best. thank you Chris.
