Although we had the executive double rooms we found them to be abit on the small side.
The cosy and comfortable bar atmosphere...we could visit there the food...was fantastic the room was very comfortable... the staff very welcoming and helpful
Location and Service First Class
The food was both great quality and value for money. Very professional and friendly staff. A great find for future trips to the area.
lovely meal 3 courses for £12 good value
couldn't find how to get into the hotel, wasn't well sign posted.
Good, clean room. Excellent and friendly staff. Good breakfast, fine ingredients and well presented.
Cleanliness and comfort of beds.Location okay for working locally. car parking good
Breakfast not good . Ordered poached eggs and was served cold uncooked mush. No one about to complain to so just left and got a good breakfast at the cafe on the industrial estate next door.
Food was awesome value and rooms were comfortable
Bed was a little too hard for me personally
bed was very uncomfortable
shower was not very impressive
I loved the location as it was nice and quiet. All members of staff were nice and pleasant with excellent customer service skills. Breakfast was piping hot each morning. Couldn't fault it at all.
Going outside the hotel into a wall of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was tiny and everything felt crammed in. The beds were solid and uncomfortable. The drawers could all have one with being hoovered out. Normally I would have gone back to reception and asked for a different room but I was up for my mothers funeral so that was the last thing on my mind..
Food and service was first class
Size of single room
The room was nice but a little dated
The fixed price menu in the restaurant. I wasn't too hungry but had to pay a fixed £12 even if I only wanted a starter!!! I asked if I could have a wine in the place of the starter and dessert, only to be advised "it's not my hotel, therefore the price is the price, whether you eat 1, 2 or 3 courses".
Excellent location, fabulous food and very reasonable too. Been visiting Scotland for 15 years on business, can't believe I've missed the Cairn in all that time. Top of my list from now on
Staff were freindly & attentive
Very noisy (right next to busy dual carrigeway) very tired decor / bedrooms. Food from the freezer (well presented but poor quality)
well located - friendly staff and good facilities
Too many dogs although there was a dog show on locally. Its important that pets are allowed but should be restricted, ie 1 dog per room.
On checking in to the desk the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was excellent and certainly added to the touch to the overnight stay and we would have no hesitation to stay at the hotel again in the future or recommend to others.
The only disappointment was when we went to our room there was a strong smell of damp in the bathroom, this was from the shower curtain. We contacted reception and was informed that the housekeepers would attend to this. On our return from shopping we were delighted that the curtain had been changed.
Our superior room was small and not particularly special
The room was comfortable , staff friendly and restaraunt very good
Staff, food and cleanliness. The staff were brilliant. Very proffesional and caring. The food was lovely
The staff were welcoming and helpful. the furnishings and bedding were immaculately clean and the breakfast was really varied and very tasty.
The floorboards outside our room were very noisy which woke us up a few times when people past our room. The shower did not have enough water pressure but was hot and very clean.
Staff and hotel good apart from night services
Excellent for price for the area
only one soap for two guests
Fantastic friendly staff, very clean and tidy, we were made to feel very welcome as were our dogs by the staff and other guests in the hotel.
