Cost of room & breakfast
The staff were excellent. Very helpful and polite and the young male waiter on Friday 29th Aug. was charming, pleasant, clean and smart. A pleasure to be served our meal by him.
Room 65 rather small for two people. The bathroom far too small. It would have made a better shower room giving more elbow room??? A lift would probably have given access to a better room. An 80 yr old does not need stairs to negotiate.
good food nice place to stay
Very clean with good amenities. Good restaurant. Ample parking
Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. Bacon was great. The staff were excellent throughout the hotel with consistency. Nice atmosphere in the bar with good beers. Very quiet room.
Clean comfy bed, but could have been the larger size
Hot water was too hot Dangerously hot!!
Having to lug my cases up the stairs.
Lucky to be in a room away from the wedding party.
People talking loudly in the corridors at 2 am! And slamming of doors. Think it was a wedding party.
Handy location. Very clean throughout. Staff very friendly. Decent choice and quality of food at breakfast.
Evening meals a bit pricey. Room/en suite ok maybe just a little too 'compact' but wouldn't stop me booking again.
The location is easy to get to and the staff are friendly and helpful.
There wasn't any particular aspect of staying at this hotel that I didn't like.
The staff are all ages, and all very friendly
great place great staff, good food
location is great
the pillows in the room smelt. :o(
The reception staff were very helpful. Bar staff in the function area were fantastic - particularly Christine.
The bar staff in the main bar area stood around chatting to each other whilst we were waiting to be served
The single room was just right. Food was fantastic Staff top notch
Expensive drinks ,more expensive than a pub..... Bed was comfy but the pillows weren't The place was clean, but it felt old and tired with the decor. No way to cool the room other than by opening the window which is a bit of issue when you are out during the day.
Everyone very welcoming
We were on our own but unfortunately there was a chav wedding going on. They let their children use one of the rooms to watch tv in but they were not watching tv they were running up and down the corridor and stairs playing on the stair lift. Shouting and slamming doors. at 11:35pm I complained to reception who did try to get a responsible adult to sort them out. The kids were quite for all of 20mins then they started again. Noise then continued constantlyuntil 1:20am.
The free Wifi
The room was extremely hot when we arrived. There was no air conditioning, the windows in our room (Room 50) didn't open more than a few inches, although in other rooms guests were able to open their windows wide. There was no fan available, as there usually is in other budget hotels we have stayed in. On the morning we left, we didn't even bother to have breakfast as we felt we just had to get out of there as the room was so unbearably hot.
Breakfast excellent. Good choice. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Resteraunt staff also very pleasant.
Room 72 bathroom smelt spoofty. No extractor fan. Also main light did not work. Made it very difficult for me to put my make up on. Although room ok feel it needs a little up spruce up. Do not like shower curtain and bath old.
All the reception staff were lovely and friendly. Very welcoming. Breakfast was very ood. Plenty of choice.
You did not have a fridge or any individual toiletries. Hash brownies at breakfast was cold.
excellent restaurant and meal, good quiet room. We would certainly use this hotel again.
no complaints whatsoever
Facilities and cleanliness were fine. Staff were friendly and helpful.
A lot of late night noise from other guests, drunken shouting in corridors.
Lovely bathroom and very clean. Easy booking. Nice comfortable room with all needs met.
The receptionist was not too friendly and not at all welcoming. You expect a big smile but instead she was quite abrupt. Rooms 81 and 86 had a smell as if it had been a past smokers room which wasn't a good first impression but was ok with window open for a while.
The location, the hotel was easy to get to.
The bathroom was dirty, there was floss and hygienic pads in the toilets when we arrived. Wrong...
Good range of food at reasonable prices, both 'A la carte' & 'specials'. Free newspapers in the bar.
Considering the price, I thought the room was a little tired and in need of re-furbishment.
