Score from 1019 reviews Very good
Staff, pleasant and not kept waiting. Room had a shower not a bath, looks like just been renovated. Again perfect
can't think of anything
The location for me is great after my long drive from Dorset, to visit friends and relatives living in Reading. Also brilliant, quick and easy access to the M4 for Heathrow. Very important for me several times a year.
Rooms at the front of the hotel facing the road can be noisy, not because of traffic which is acceptable, but the staff and party members who congregate on the front steps for cigarette breaks during the late hours, whilst guessed are trying to sleep.
Liked friendliness of staff and homely atrmosphere in lounge. Room was lovely with plenty of space and was quiet.
Didn't like scalding hot water in gents toilet in bar.
Food Restaurant Service
Room, decor and especially the bathroom were very tired and needed upgrading.
everything about the hotel, very relaxing stay with great food. Our room was spotlessly clean. Recommend to any one.
Most staff were friendly -but not as attentive as I am used to(I spend a lot of time in hotels in the far East where staff are always more attentive and friendly.
1.The fact that they forgot to ask me if I wanted a Daily Newspaper (As a platinum rewards member I was entitled to afree one. 2 The light above the shaving mirror was broken off 3.The hot tap didn't work properly in the sink in the batrhroom-on the cover was missing from the top. 4 On a Friday evening I wanted a bar meal but was told therey were not available becuse of a party in the restaurant .The party was also filling the bar at the time I would have liked to have eaten. I was offered sandwiches but I felt that advance notice of this arrangement would have been courteous to paying guests.
The way we were treated by the very thoughtful staff, the cleanliness of our room and public areas. The comfort of the room we were given, it had everything we needed.
The fact that we had to leave early because of my husbands ill health. Even then the staff were very helpful and sympathetic.
The bed was very comfortable, & the buffet breakfast was lovely & plentiful
The rooms are starting to look very tired, especially the bathroom, they need to spend the money in these areas if only to bring them up to date with the likes of premier inn, travel lodge etc
Bar and restaurant were good however the drinks very expensive
Drink prices too expensive and the room door lock needs replacing
We were there for one night for a 70thbirthday party, we had a lovely time. We found the breakfast excellent with a great choice, the staff w ere very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend.
Bathroom refurbishment to a high standard
Bed was small for two adults, twin beds would be better. Telephone in room did not work and one set of towels were soiled prior to us using them.
friendly good service really well cared for
decor / rooms a bit dated
Easy access from motorway Good car parking facilities Friendly helpful staff
It met the purpose for my stay.
The noisy (banging) radiator next to bed at 3.15am on the morning I was leaving. No sky on tv -maybe this is something Best Western could look at introducing
we were not told until check out that there was a credit card charge. If we had been told at check in then we could have made use of the express checkout
The free Wifi
Lack of a lift
Every thing about this hotel is excellent staff, food, service, comfortable beds and lounge bar with plenty of comfortable seating
Room was good, bed comfortable andvevening meal was good
Breakfast not included and not worth the £10.25. Smoking area at front of hotel adjacent to car park we had to walk through smoke to get to our car not very pleasant
Friendly staff. Convenient location for our purpose. A good standard breakfast at a fair price.
Dated and tired decor in the bar. Scruffy flooring in the corridor. Hard bed. Damp smell in the room. No toiletries other than bolted-on bottle of Dove. Breakfast was extra despite high cost of room. It was all tired and in need of updating.
Arriving from Australia No help with luggage 65 year old woman travelling solo. Stairs to room took 8 mins to get luggage up stairs. No shampoo just dove soap containers as I have arthritis unable to get soap out. No happy at all very poor service.
all well organised good value for money
Sunday carvery good choice, quality food and price.
Price of drinks far too high. Come £3.40 for a pint is excessive
l liked the bar facilities
l did not like the room
The Hotel staff were friendly and polite. Also it was a great base for the area we needed. Would stay again.
