Reasonably priced as Edinburgh very expensive. Five minutes drive to the Park and Ride to get into the City.
Very tired hotel...a bit smelly..needs renovating
Staff really friendly. Offered packed lunch instead of breakfast as we had to leave early
No hairdryer. Food more basic than would have liked.
Friendly service. Made us feel like locals
Decor dated especially the office.
Tatty rooms - I suppose you get what you pay for
the staff were excellent food for lovely and the drink was very reasonable for a hotel we stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time there
Nice place but it is an older than I thought needs a few repairs. Staff were nice and friendly. The food was lovely so I recommend a meal there at least one night, breakfast was also good.
A bit far out of the city and difficult to get to public transport. Pipes in the bathroom made noise when showering.
Good views over the Forth from the dining area. Good service. Straightforward and tasty food. Good breakfast with quick service. Reception and dining area nicely refurbished. Easy onsite parking. Convenient for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as Rosyth station is only 10 mins away with trains straight into the centre of Edinburgh without the hassle of driving in and trying to park.
External appearance was not very inviting but don't let that put you off. Some bedrooms need refurbishing - this appears to be ongoing as some do seem to have been done already.
Restaurant was good. Clean rooms Parking Very convenient to go to the airport
Too much noise from the bar.
Breakfast was superb. The room was spotlessly clean. The bar was lively and reasonably priced. Terrace was a good place to sit with a drink
It was a bit far from town and other facilities
Its proximity to the port.
Room not very big but more than adequate for one night
price ,handy overnight stop for travel into Edinburgh, no rip off Edinburgh fest rates here pretty basic rooms but ok for 1 night stopover
noisey guests banging room doors entering and leaving, not hotels fault just ignorant guests
* i liked the way the breakfast was set up.
*red hot pipe running through the room and made the room very uncomfortable, when i ask for another room a was told no even through the place had plenty of free rooms. *bar staff were very rude. *hdmi connection on the TV was broken as well as the remote. *the overall look of the room was shabby (wall paper peeled off, window vent broken, drawer front panels fell of after opining) *i would have liked the wifi password to be in the room instead of going down to ask for it.
The room was OK for what we wanted.the receptionists were helpful.
Been told we couldn't have a pudding with our meal as they stop cooking at 8.00(it was 7.55) luckily the chef did do us a pudding.been served 2 cold pots of tea with our breakfast.
The location wasn't ideal as it was 15 miles away from the venue and across the Forth Road Bridge. Apart from that, the hotel was fine and the breakfasts were lovely.
The staff were very helpful, especially Kasha on reception and Liz in the restaurant. Good breakfast which was included in the price. The menu in the restaurant also had a good variety of meals.
After reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit dubious about staying however I didn't need to worry. The staff were extremely helpful and even allowed me to check in early due to having to get back to Glasgow for the games. The executive room we were in was excellent, it had obviously been redecorated recently and everything looked very clean and tidy. Other rooms are clearly being refurbished at the minute and I'll assume the poor reviews are down to people stopping in rooms that haven't been completed as yet. Food was excellent and plenty of choice, we ate both breakfast and evening meals here and wasn't disappointed. Location was ideal approximately 20 minutes from Edinburgh or 40-50 minutes from Glasgow by car.
Only very minor issue was I couldn't get wifi in the room, although in all fairness I didn't try very hard to get this resolved due to getting a 4G signal on my phone. Had I raised this with staff I'm sure they would have been happy to sort this out.
Helpful staff, excellent menu choices. Lovely clean room, housekeeping staff do a grand job every day Hotel is partially through a refurb and will be fab once this is fully completed. Lovely homely place ideal for sightseeing
No AC and couldn't really open window enough to cool room down as window tilt and turn. No opening window in bathroom
Noise. Decor. Comfort of bed. Quality of breakfast. There was nothing good about this stay
From the moment we arrived we received excellent service. All of the staff were extremely friendly, always happy to help & go that extra mile. The rooms were the best we have ever stayed in. The beds were extremely soft and comfortable (unlike other hotels that feel like you are sleeping on concrete.) The food was at great value for money, and of a standard you would expect from a 5 Michelin star restaurant. The views from the beer garden just took my breath away every time. We all are looking for to staying again at the hotel next year.
The staff were very nice and accommodating! The food in the restaurant was good!
We decided to stay here as there wasn't much available in the area due to T in the Park being on. We were originally booked in for 2 nights but we decided to cancel our second night to go somewhere else. The hotel is under refurbishment just now so this may change, but the room we were given was awful. There's no other word for it. The walls were damp, wallpaper was coming off, colour scheme was shocking. The room was unbearably hot even with the heater off and window open as the hot pipes for all the other rooms run through it so constantly heating up. The area is pretty dodgey, but then what did we expect for being so close to Rosyth harbour..! The outside of the hotel looks very worn and could more than do with a paint. The pub was ok, but full of harbour workers at the weekend and not at all suitable for a family. The wifi didn't work at all for us, just couldn't connect to it. Overall very disappointed and won't be going back as there are much better hotels in the area.
The view and the road out!!!
What a disappointing hotel,Room was a disgrace, mould on bathroom ceiling, very poor decor, bed creaked every time you turned over, absolutely NOT value for money!!!! NOT recommended at all.
Room was of good quality.
Very hot at night and no temperature control. Opened the window to change this but then it was little too noisy. Unfortunately I could not sleep well because of this.
easy to find and good value for money
