room with a view of castle
very expensive bar
Nice pubic spaces, lovely doorman
Room not cleaned properly. Found luggage from previous occupier, bathrobes not clean! Obviously used before and retied.Yuck. To cap it all, we were given a bill which wasn't ours. Very disappointing all round.
Amazing friendly and helpful staff.
Concierge service was great
We had a tear on our bed sheets, hair dryer did not reach mirror in bedroom, breakfast was bit disorganised.
Breakfast a little busy
Staff and pillows! Food Room
Public toilets dirty Waiting staff could do with repeating back the order our order was wrong twice
Great location, nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff.
We ordered a kir, which was overpriced, under-sized and had to much cassis in it. When we complained the waiter took it away and bought it back half emptied out and topped up with wine - which made it taste bad. Also, the heating (A/c?) was noisy, so we switched it off.
Location is fab View of castle is lovely Staff on reception were efficient Breakfast was great and service from staff at breakfast was very good and friendly
Our room was 518, it was the last room down a long, boring corridor. Approx distance from our room to the lift was 120 metres... The corridor reminded me of the scene with the creepy twins out of the film 'The Shining'! Our room was really cold, we tried the heating option but didn't seem to make a difference, luckily we found a scratchy blanket in the wardrobe to put over the duvet at night. There was a cold, draughty sash window with broken beading that fell on me when I opened the curtain. We had a sandwich there, 2 x sandwiches with a pack of crisps shared between 2 and a belini's... £38 (gulp!) my egg sandwich was stale like it had been left under a heat lamp maybe? Had to wait for a new one to be made, not much of an apology and was made to feel like I was being a nuisance. Overall I am very disappointed as I have saved for our weekend away for my partners 40th and at £189 per night I feel a bit ripped off. My advice, if you want 5 star, go somewhere else!
Great location. Excellent spa facilities. Very comfortable beds.
The staff could not have been more charming, or helpful, especially Sam the young barman in the Cally Bar. The facilities are excellent and the whole place screams 'Luxury'.
Location pool and fitness suite were excellent
Room was small for the price probably because I was a single traveler
the hotel and facilities were very good
trying to sell us an upgrade for £30.00 to a castle view when we were only staying one night and it was already dark bit of a waste of time
Location Restaurant Room Staff
Absolute Toplage! Peacock Alley tolle Atmosphäre. Perfect for the afternoon tea. Friendly and attentive staff at the door (doormen) and one, but only one, waiter in the Peacock Alley on Saturday morning who did a great job and made us feel like guests and not disturbing.
We could write our name on the top of the minibar...that's not clean!!! We did not want to check more in the room after we saw that! In the Bar the staff could clean up the glasses and mirrors from time to time, too.... The SPA itself is not at all what you expect in a 5* hotel(!) old, broken surrounds at the pool, no bathrobes, only 5 chairs in the pool sauna area...no relaxing area. No water or any drink offered. The front desk staff was poor! No information or rooming at the check in. We tried to call the reception to pick up our luggage the departure day...the FO did not even answer the phone! The operator did transfer me twice, too, but still nobody answered the phone! We brought the luggage down and did ask if the phone does not work. The staff told us that it does work but they have been busy?????? Thought we are in a 5* hotel. The phone should never ring more than times and of course somebody needs to answer the phone!!! A man standing both days behind the desk (no batch) did nothing. What was he therefore? He could have answered the phone? Offer a call back if everybody is busy!!!! Our information bill was left on the desk for the next guests.... we saw that!!!! Is it Hilton standard to leave guest datas on the desk available to everybody????
The location was central. Staff were all attentive. The building was beautiful and our room was lovely with all the things you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Would definitely stay again.
Everything a hotel should be,no complaints text book very clean
Very minor the walls in the corridors bare some pictures wouldn't go amiss, best I could come up with
It was my wife's birthday celebration and everything couldn't have been better.
Staff is friendly and hotel is central between old en 'new' town. Room with view at the castle is fab! nice lounge. Also gym and swimming pool
Rooms are a bit small and hotel is a bit old fashion
Staff - pre-empted all our needs on arrival, breakfast and departure. Extremely professional and courteous.
After arriving back at the hotel after dinner we were disappointed to find the bar busy with a staff do meaning there was nowhere open to get a drink. It would have been nice to be told this on arrival.
breakfast and the attention to detail by the waiter
2 tea bags only in the room
Queen room was not as advertised. Had full bed and very cramped
The location is great - easy walk from train station and to other tourist attractions. The staff were very professional and helpful, even the maintenance man. Our recently renovated room was very spacious and comfortable.
The air conditioning in our original room was very noisy and had faulty controls. Our son's room was the same. We were quickly changed to a renovated room. Something which is the luck of allocation of rooms but our room was the last in the corridor which meant about 200m walk to lift - only a problem because of my arthritis.
Amazing hotel and staff , the restaurant is excellent with great service the Bar was class a wide range of wines, whiskey and cocktails and very friendly bar staff . Will be returning in the summer for sure !!
Ambience. Food was good and drinks selection excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly.
2 of our 3 rooms were not ready until 5.30 and 6pm respectively. Maintenance of our room was poor. Street facing rooms could do with secondary glazing
