The hotel was booked as my 40th birthday treat the only complaint I have is the car parking facility the hotel car park is being refurbished thus I knew however the alternative carpark that was offered was £26 per day which is outrageously expesive , this should be noted somewhere at the time of booking what the cost of the alternative is. Thanks

We received a very friendly welcome, the staff were really helpful and the room was so clean, comfortable and very well equiped. The bathroom was spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was soooo comfortable. Refurbishments were going on at the hotel and we received a phone-call a couple of days before our stay to check that we were fine with that, we were. No problems and this didn't affect our stay at all. Thank you to the friendly staff we will definitely choose this hotel when we next stay in Edinburgh.

The wifi in the lobby wasn't working. The staff were very helpful at trying to get it to connect, but said they'd been having intermittent problems with the signal. It is not acceptable for a hotel of this reputation and supposed quality to not have working wifi. It left me with a very poor impression of the facilities.

The bed, the mattress the whole room was wonderful. They upgraded our room by their selves. The room was big, comfortable and very clean. The room that the breakfast was served was very elegant and aristocratic and the reception was very kind and treated you wonderfully!it is extremely central on princess street with a bus stop outside that gets you straight from the airport and all the shops next to the hotel! Fortunately it didnt have only Scottish breakfast so you can have more options! The hotel is renovating so it has much noise! A bit too expensive cause after i stayed at another major hotel more central and cheaper like 30 pounds per day and was way better!

It was a taste of luxury. It was undergoing renovation works, which meant that it was a little untidy.

Hotel is beautiful and well located. Good breakfast. Very comfortable and helpful staff. . Sweet and sour effect. Downside. No parking, no free wifi(too expensive and does not work well) and no free mini- bar as many hotels have now. Will not stay again until wifi works better Sweet and sour effect.

The check-in and check-out was very efficient and at check-out the staff new my name as I arrived at the desk - how do they do that? The room was excellent and the bed was one of the most comfortable, in true Hilton tradition.

The hotel had a very central location for exploring Edinburgh. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. We had breakfast included in our stay which was buffet style with plenty of choice.

Everything was perfect!!! Not a bad word to say, staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was spotless and the bed was so comfy my own feels like sleeping on a rock in comparison! The price of the breakfast - had a much cheaper and probably tastier full scottish breakfast in a pub on Rose street :)

The quality of furnishing and decor in the hotel bedrooms. The beautiful architecture. The weak before I had stayed in the Hilton Al Ain and the comparison of service was very disappointing at the Caledonian. The reception staff were not as attentive and no one offered to help with bags. We were left queuing for breakfast due to a change of venue with little apology from the staff. The service did not meet my expectations of this hotel

The hotel its self was excellant the prices in the bar are very expensive tho so make your way to the nearest weatherspoons when youve got over the shock! Our room was excellant and very clean and the staff very friendly. The only thing wrong with this hotel is the pool and spa,it is very small for the size of the hotel, and also the parking altho there were alterations going on but still 26 pounds to park for 24 hours on an ncp car park outragous!!!

Recption, staff, elegance & large Room with the castle view Dissapointed with room size on arrival. Had to pay £60 for a bigger room. Money well spent. One problem that would annoy others and perhaps did annoy us a bit was the fact that on both mornings of our stay we were woke up unexpectedly by rrapping of the door and then a staff member entering the room whilst we were still in bed. The staff member upon realizing immediatley left the room. No real harm done

Our room was huge and the staff vey helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellant. The location of the hotel was great loved that you could see the castle from the hotel. Hotel inside was beautiful. However our room was extremely noisy at night with single glazed windows on a Saturday night. There was a piano outside our room that someone at 3 am decided they would have a go. A little dissapointed at the size of the swimming pool considering the size of the hotel it did smell a bit.
