The hotel was very convenient for St Pancras International which was what I was after. The room was small but clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The single room I was in was very small. |

A good value 2 star B&B. An old building, which reading other guest reviews does seem to cause an issue. But it is old, it is 2 star so don't expect 5 star. This was our 2nd stay here and would use again without hesitation. Originally chose to be 2 minutes from Kings Cross. There's no possible delay in the morning for early trains, unlike having to travel across London from a central London hotel. And breakfast (English not Continental) very good for the hungry traveller. Also, the hotel has a luggage storage room form early arrivals (with no charge) allowing you to get on with the day without extra bags. |

The location of the California hotel was useful as it is close by to Kings Cross St Pancras, UCL, the British Museum and the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology The hotel itself was very basic, the carpets really needed replacing, as did many of the fixtures and finishings. Everything worked, but it was basic, and the door could not be locked at night, being only a chubb lock type. Breakfast was cooked, although rather chaotic! |

Clean room and bathroom, bed comfortable. No frills - no bathmat, no hairdryer. Breakfast mediocre. Not everyone would like the narrow stairs and corridors. |

The hotel was clean ,close to underground and was good value for money. Ideal for those short stay visits to london The breakfast had plenty to choose from but much of it was cold . Its not that hard to cook in small batches and top up when required. |

I only like the location, because it is meters away from King's cross and St.Pancras international station. I could'nt believe that hotel like California did not have telephone in the rooms.NOT In this century, impossible. |

Very easy to get to and easy to find on the way back from town. Booked it prurely because of it's location. Breakfast finished at 9.00am which is far too early for a Sunday morning. As a result I missed it so didn't feel I got value for money. |

1/ Location really great especially for those who’s travelling from Paris by Eurostar (my case) as far as London St Pancras is in close vicinity to Hotel 2/ comfy bed 1/ In my comments of booking form I had asked not to offer a room on the basement floor but, however, I've got it, furthermore, with bathroom almost outside, so you’re taking shower and going to toilet in coldness… Fortunately, I stayed there just for one night. 2/ Breakfast is very poor but this is an English standard ;-( |

The location is great. Went to our room at 2.10pm - it had not been cleaned yet - the bed was unmade and it smelled in there etc... We were told to wait another 15 minutes for our room which turned into 35. Not once were we aplogised to or offered a tea/coffee etc. The breakfast choices were very limited and the staff were touching the toast with their bare hands rather than using tongs. |

The hotel was within easy walking distance of Bloomsbury, Euston and Kings Cross stations. It had a nice lounge which is unusual in a B&B. We booked a triple room which appeared to have 3 beds on the web photo. However, there were only two very narrow beds and one sofa bed in a very small room with a portable TV. We could not use the shower as the plumbing had an air lock. |

Location next to Kings Cross station, self-service breakfast - eat what you like, cleanliness of all areas. En-suite a little cramped (very low door to bathroom). Staff could be friendlier. |

The best of the California hotel is the location. It was the best I have stayed in London. In addition, the hotel stored my luggqage at no additional cost. Need to greatly improve the cleaning. The rooms are extremely small and the sheets have stains. Breakfast is the English type. I believe it could have some international items such as fruit or more variety of breads or more than one type of eggs (scrambled, boiled, fried). |

We stayed this time in a family room which was clean, warm and comfortable.previously we stayed in a double room which was not as good.staff seving at breakfast leave a little to be desired and could be more helpfull.but reception staff are very good. The staff serving breakfast need to be more helpfull and clear the tables up more quickly, also it takes ages to get someones attention to get tea or coffee, they do not seem to be very happy people. |
