Unfortunately no wifi during my visit. Not a Callander Meadows issue - service provider fault.
The friendliness of Suzanne and Nick, the comfortable room and great food.
No parking. Not advised at booking building had scaffolding which cut off parking.
Very friendly staff and very accommodating.
The room was quite small. This was not really a problem for us as we were out most of the evening, but would have been more of an issue otherwise- only one chair for the 2 of us, otherwise sit on the bed. I personally am not v keen on having to decide in the evening what i want for breakfast the following day, but I can understand it can be helpful to the proprietors, and the breakfast itself was very good.
breakfast was very good- good choice in addition to standard full English. Also, when I asked for an iron, this was brought up to the room for me.
Bed not comfortable and room was very cold.
Restaurant. Food was better then excellent!
Had a great stay here on a recent weekend. Lovely food, great value for money. Staff were lovely too, couldn't be more helpful and welcoming to my partner and I
Friendly welcome to family-run hotel. No problems allowing us to bring our parrot in his travelling cage into the hotel. Excellent dinner with wide and varied choice. Will definitely return again.
Owners had a night off. Wakened up by shouting and banging of doors. One plug. Hair dryer or Kettle on, NoTV. Switch for Shower outside the ensuite which is why I could not get it to work. At 8-10 am there was no one around, eventually heard movement.
Lack of privacy - very small hotel.
Location and dining experience
The water pressure in the shower was a bit weak.
The room was great, it was decorated well and had a lovely big four poster bed. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was lovely. Will definitely stay again.
Lovely bedroom and a excellent hotel. Breakfast was superb. Central location
lovely, very comfortable big room, great breakfasts, and very friendly owners
No hot water at wash basin, had to boil kettle to get warm wash, no towel rails at all in shower room, very frustrating having to drape it over room rad or end of bed every time. website said food available but in reality only on Thursdays to Saturdays. We booked here especially for the food so that we didn't have to go hunting for it - which we had to in the end. We have been coming to Callander for 15 years to visit aunt.
Excellent location, very pleasant owners and staff, clean, double glazed windows (warm as 10 deg C outside), good wifi, good breakfast. Lovely view of the Trossachs hills from rear double bedroom which was quiet.
Décor, cobwebs hanging from light fitting, ancient beds only sat on them though we didn't stay the night, dirty shower cubicle horrible towels have used better to dry the dog with, ill fitting thread bare carpets and the smell very unpleasant Sorry just not what was expected looked better on the website.
Location, friendliness, quality of food
Warm welcome on arrival; Lovely food in their restaurant with changing specials every night. Very comfortable room at a great price. Great central location.
Room size only adequate
The friendliness and the food
Fabulous stay, great hosts, lovely food and Nick was brill with his info for cycling
The food, service, atmosphere and hospitality was excellent. Nick and Suzanne were very welcoming and attentive.very nice people. we have already booked for next year.
Traffic Noise Very loud plumbing
Room Big and comfarible
Probably the only negatives for us was that there wasn't enough power points for us to easilly charge our myriad of equipment, and we had some problems with space for two large suitcases. The room is a good size, but I think that given it had a double setee, I would have preferred to not have the lovely big armchair in the room, but rather a second folding luggage table.
We had a short but enjoyable stay at Callander Meadows. The driveway dips a bit as you drive in, but we didn't have any problems parking the car behind the hotel.Nick and Suzanna were very friendly and accommodating. Nick happilly offerred to carry luggage up to our room. We also really enjoyed the lovely breakfasts prepared for us each morning.
Frequently disturbed by others going up and down stairs past the room. Not the place to book if you like a peaceful siesta in the afternoon. Ensuite is not really ensuite, it is a bit of the bedroom which has been partitioned off.
Lovely food in restaurant. Nice garden to sit out in nice weather.
No welcome on arrival. Restaurant was closed even though it should have been open, according to the opening times.
The owners are the most welcoming, kind and considerate people and nothing is too much trouble.
Bed was so comfortable. Amazing breakfast.
