Cairn Dhu Apartment  

The apartment offered us a very comfortable "bolt-hole" on the Island of Lewis in January - the ferry was unable to dock due to the weather conditions and the crossing was extended by 5 hours! We needed a place to unwind and relax which was also easy to find and gave us what the advertising promised. These things we got. We brought our own food - well, m & s did the work really - and to be honest it was as good as being at home. In addition we did not need to see a soul due to the convenience of the key deposit, so all in all it suited us perfectly!!!

The kitchen was just a bit chilly and could benefit from rugs or something to enhance the feeling of home.

Parking a bit limited. Wifi access hit and miss on the night we stayed.

Absence of a clothes dryer. A small table & chairs in living room would be nice.

This was a fantastic place from which to explore the Isle of Lewis. We had a chance to unwind, relax, cook our own meals and do our own thing - a pleasant change after so many weeks in Bed and Breakfast accommodation. A lovely walk into town uncovered many gorgeous shops and pubs, the supermarket was 2 minutes away and we visited the Standing Stones of Callanish and the beaches on short trips by car. Everything had been thought of and the modern decor was tasteful and comfortable. A great stay!
