Great location, great apartment for the price. Have been quite a few times. The apartment was lovely and warm when we arrived on a cold winters day. Walking distance to princes street etc. Ideal if you dont want to have just a room in a hotel!
The warmth, washing facilities and fully stocked kitchen plus plenty of extra blankets
wifi was so poor that neither of us, both business travellers could successfully work in the apartment
2 minute walk away from the Edinburgh playhouse and a taxi rank. Lovely little apartment, with good value for money.
Apartment was clean and cosy; there were 5 in our group and it met our needs for the one night. Close to and convenient for the Playhouse (we were down to see Wicked) and good dining choices all within a few minutes walk.
Suited fine....secure city centre parking too
no blind at the bathroom window
Location was good and it had all the basics
Pretty tired looking windows not working
The apartment met our requirements very well. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The bus route is very close although we walked to the castle. Lots of shops and restuarants nearby
Friendly manager, great location.Very clean and modern.
Did what it said "on the tin" Parking facility excellent
Quiet location whilst still being close to Edinburgh City Centre. Great to have separate kitchen from the living room and a very comfortable bed. Co-op supermarket less than 5 minutes walk away. No 'damages deposit' required.
A wee bit inconvenient collecting the keys from Abbey Hotel on arrival but my partner looked after the bags on the main road whilst I walked up, 5-10 mins walk and checking out the keys can simply be posted back through apartment letterbox.
The privacy. Noise level was negligible which made for a good nights sleep. Beds were firm and apartment clean. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Brenda, the manager, went above and beyond to help me out in somewhat of a crisis I was having with an appliance with which I was unfamiliar. I will say this also, if you are unable to walk up slight hills (Edinburgh is quite hilly and those hills can be steep) or for 10-20 minutes you may want to choose a different establishment. Since walking was not an issue for any of my family, this did not have an effect on our stay.
The ONLY thing we had a wee bit of trouble with was the WiFi conncection being a bit spotty in the beginning of our stay. Once it was brought to the attention of the staff the modem was reset and it was smooth sailing from Monday until we left on Friday.
Really enjoyed the stay, staff very helpful and accommodation and location first class
Good location, clean apartment with good facilities-everything we needed really.
Pretty bog standard but had everything you needed
Having to pick up keys from a separate location
The kitchen and shower water pressure were great. Lots of food markets within a three or four block walk.
Too expensive for the very shabby furnishings. It's in an ugly area, towels are at the pet only stage and the beds are very small. For this money I was expecting 4 star and got 2, I'd certainly want to be closer to the centre of town.
Location, cleanliness, helpful staff. Comfortable beds and bonus of car parking space.
Rather outdated furniture and decor spoilt an otherwise perfect apartment for location, and really clean.
Good location within easy walking distance of Waverley Station. Pleasant, helpful cleaning staff.
Mirror-doors on wardrobe in master bedroom. Average kitchen equipment - very noisy washing machine.
This apartment is close to the city centre, so a lot of events and places of interest are within walking distance. The basic facilities are provided and check out was totally hassle free!
The first night was cold because the heating had been switched off. I wonder it the heating could be put on in preparation for a guests arrival.
Location is good and it is clean. The welcome pack is useful.
It was supposed to accommodate 5 people, but there was not enough seating space. You can not walk around the end of the twin beds. The apartment could do with an upgrade in decor.
It was great being able to sit on a sofa or in a comfy chair to watch TV or to sit at the table and read in the evening rather than be jammed into a room and sit on a bed! It had a fireplace and although we did not have to use it, added to the homey feeling!
Our bedroom over looked a city bus holding facility, but really was not bad.
I would recommend this place to bigger families who need the kitchen. My parents couldn't walk too much and also we ate outside everyday so maybe it was not the best choice for us.
The location was not very good, it requires some walking and the apartments are actually further away from where you get the keys (abbey hotel). No elevator, which was a bit problematic and the apartment was a bit smelly but that was the previous occupant's fault, not the hotel's. The lady on the phone was quite helpful about checking out and she even asked if we had any complaints, which was nice.
Tv would not work, found out tv cable ripped out of wall, contacted erection ,who got new lead BUT I had to drive to collect it! Not impressed!
Great location with several nice restaurants within walking distance. New tram station about 7 to 8 minutes walk. Free parking was very useful. Although main bus depot across the road, area remain very quiet. Apartment was clean and all appliance worked the way they should be.
Needing to pick up the key from Abbey Hotel was not very convenient and had to be collected by 10:30pm. It was a stress to try to get there before the time. Note that Abbey Hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Calton Apartment. No toiletries. Need to bring your own soap. Can be an unpleasant surprise on the first night when you arrive. Lucky that everything were okay in the apartment as there isn't anyone you can talk to after you pick up your key. Apartment looking a bit tired.
