Score from 187 reviews Wonderful
The kitchen and shower water pressure were great. Lots of food markets within a three or four block walk.
Too expensive for the very shabby furnishings. It's in an ugly area, towels are at the pet only stage and the beds are very small. For this money I was expecting 4 star and got 2, I'd certainly want to be closer to the centre of town.
Location, cleanliness, helpful staff. Comfortable beds and bonus of car parking space.
Rather outdated furniture and decor spoilt an otherwise perfect apartment for location, and really clean.
Good location within easy walking distance of Waverley Station. Pleasant, helpful cleaning staff.
Mirror-doors on wardrobe in master bedroom. Average kitchen equipment - very noisy washing machine.
This apartment is close to the city centre, so a lot of events and places of interest are within walking distance. The basic facilities are provided and check out was totally hassle free!
The first night was cold because the heating had been switched off. I wonder it the heating could be put on in preparation for a guests arrival.
Location is good and it is clean. The welcome pack is useful.
It was supposed to accommodate 5 people, but there was not enough seating space. You can not walk around the end of the twin beds. The apartment could do with an upgrade in decor.
I would recommend this place to bigger families who need the kitchen. My parents couldn't walk too much and also we ate outside everyday so maybe it was not the best choice for us.
The location was not very good, it requires some walking and the apartments are actually further away from where you get the keys (abbey hotel). No elevator, which was a bit problematic and the apartment was a bit smelly but that was the previous occupant's fault, not the hotel's. The lady on the phone was quite helpful about checking out and she even asked if we had any complaints, which was nice.
Tv would not work, found out tv cable ripped out of wall, contacted erection ,who got new lead BUT I had to drive to collect it! Not impressed!
Great location with several nice restaurants within walking distance. New tram station about 7 to 8 minutes walk. Free parking was very useful. Although main bus depot across the road, area remain very quiet. Apartment was clean and all appliance worked the way they should be.
Needing to pick up the key from Abbey Hotel was not very convenient and had to be collected by 10:30pm. It was a stress to try to get there before the time. Note that Abbey Hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Calton Apartment. No toiletries. Need to bring your own soap. Can be an unpleasant surprise on the first night when you arrive. Lucky that everything were okay in the apartment as there isn't anyone you can talk to after you pick up your key. Apartment looking a bit tired.
great location, quiet street, facilities
The Wi-Fi was extremely weak and we were not able to connect for the entire six days we were there.
It was not clean No toiletries No milk tea or coffee No bath mat or hand towels Bath towels were terrible
Location is a few minutes walk from center. Staff is really helpful and cheerful which makes your stay pleasant
1. overall comfy apartment 2. fully equipped kitchen with extraordinarily enough cutleries, utensils and stuff 3. towels, toilet rolls, shampoo and soap were provided at the start (these would not be replenished though) 4. wardrobes with small amount of hangers available
1. there is a 10min walk from the check-in point to the apartment, which involves uphills and downhills, quite tough when carrying luggages (this walk is unavoidable if you need to store your luggage there after check-out) 2. wi-fi connection is pretty bad, even stopped since our second night of stay 3. the shower is hot enough, but occasionally the pressure would be so low that you would need to kneel down to have enough water supply to clean yourself (we guess that's because two or more flats are having a shower simultaneously) 4. there were 4 of us and we each had a hand carry size luggage, that nearly occupied the entire living room (no space in either bedroom to lay them out), could not imagine fitting in the 5th person (we made a booking for 5 guests originally, luckily the last person did not turn up) 5. were not allowed to take rest at the hotel entrance hall seatings after checkout since we were no longer guests (i think this is very rude)
A very quiet place.
There should have a person to direct a guest to the Appartments, so the guest don't have to go around try to fine the place and the sign should be a bit bigger so that easy to see from far.
Very clean, helpful staff, comfortable
The shower works on some sort of boiler system and u only get one tank which is a bit primitive and when you have 5 people showering it runs cold half way through although u can reset it for another 2 hrs you can't do anything if it happens once your in the shower. Location is good but still a bit of a walk
excellent location good services
The apartment was nice, clean and close to city centre.Only negative is you have to check in somewhere else.
First of all, the location of the apartment, the flat is walking distance from city center (10 min from the bus and train stations). The price was very attractive. Our two-bedroom flat was well furnished (large-screen TV, well-equipped kitchen, clean bath and shower, lovely electrical fire place which makes the leaving room cosy). To get the key at the Abbey Hotel is not annoying at all (you can get very useful advices on restaurants). The general manager of the Calton Apartments is a very kind and helpful person. We highly recommend this apartments, perfect for all kind of visitors.
The double bed was a bit small for two persons.
Everything within easy walking distance, car parking included, basics included on arrival
All of the above and excellent people to deal with.
The facilities in the kitchen. The washing machine is new too.
The toilets were old.
Very thorough introduction to the apartments and very friendly
overall pleased with everything , nice and clean
Location, parking, cleanliness and homeliness. Lovely apartment
Maybe would of liked it a little cheaper. We paid £115 for the one night.
Apartment was very nice and near the playhouse
Having to check in at a different hotel beforehand
