Beds are like sleeping on the floor
Great location and fab hotel. Will go again
They parked our car and curbed our wheel but very apologetic and has paid for damage.
The location was fantastic being so close to everything and breakfast was good.
Everything from the welcome, to the great room, to the great breakfast.. Our stay was perfect
I can't really fault anything with this hotel, but breakfast was a little lukewarm. Other than that smiles all round :)
City centre location Top quality cleanliness and room Excellent room service Delicious and interesting breakfast
Building work going on but well managed and little noise impact
Great hotel and the staff are an asset
Refurbishment is affecting the lay out and the breakfast is suffering as a result. The eggs were like rubber and the toasters are too slow. All to do with the fact they aren't using a dining room because of the work being done
The refurbishment meant that breakfast is mot as good, in part coffee was cold and old.
clean, up to date, comfortable, safe
would have appreciated a minibar
Comfortable rooms and great location; friendly and helpful staff
Rennovation work made moving through the hotel slow; our room was not cleaned; drinks available in bar was limited.
Friendly staff and comfortable rooms
Renovation works being undertaken resulting in some noise and limited facilities
Maximal use of storage space and toilet
Renovation - entrance was very cold via the porter
It's a very business hotel. Expensive, big, a lot of people, breakfast was crowded and rooms were very small. The only positive note is that it's in the centre.
Spotless and comfortable beds, rooms and bathrooms. English breakfast is very good. Staff is extremely helpful specially at the restaurant.
Comfortable bed and extremely clean. Great central location.
I paid £175 for an executive king room and have to say I was a little disappointed. The room overlooked the current renovation site and was noisy when we arrived at 1500hrs. Considering the premium price there was nothing about the room that I felt justified the price. Next time I would just book a standard room and save on the price.
Food!bedrooms always looks IMMACULATE. Free wifi. Great location. Friendly staff.
Renovation works and noise. We got evacuated once. But this is a rare.
Excellent central location Good sized room Good value (on the basis of the Christmas discount rate)
Full rate would seem to be driven by the location, rather than the quality of the rooms or communal areas
Perfect location for visiting Cambridge - the hotel is easy to find, located in the centre behind John Lewis. It's just a minute away from the shops and the colleges, so it's perfect for shopping or an evening out. If you are driving, there is a parking service which was great, although this was £18 for overnight parking, plus an additional £10 to keep the car there until 8pm. The staff were friendly and helpful, and dinner in the bar was fine (although not a premium feel - just nice pub food) - I paid £40 for two main courses and desserts and a few drinks, which was very reasonable. It's currently being refurbished and looks like it will be very smart when finished.
I had a long wait for breakfast in the morning (20mins) - I understand that the hotel was busy and the staff were apologetic, but they should be making allowances for this (opening other rooms, using bigger rooms). Dinner at the bar was fine, but it didn't have a premium feel - just nice pub food. Our stay was £155 for a double room, which I feel was overpriced.
Situation of hotel and valet parking
Bar understaffed, far too slow, unorganised
It was the first hotel I have stayed at that has sky in your room so watching football was great
The shower could of been a bit more powerful
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The food was great and the bed was very confortable. Very fast room service.
Unfortunately, when we visited, they were carrying out refurbishment which, although didn't really impact on our stay, meant the restaurant was closed so we ate in the bar which was freezing!
Considering in the middle of refurbishment the whole facility and amenities ran smoothly without disruption, noise and cleanliness. Would stay again particularly for its central location and valet parking.
friendly & informative welcome location - near all shops very clean room - spotless white company bath products sky channels on TV very comfortable bed/ pillows space in room polite staff
First Class and friendly service from everyone in the hotel and consistent to my previous stay. This was my husbands first stay and he has already recommended it ! Location is central to the colleges and shopping and has valet parking facilities. Family room was spacious and recently refurnished & the housekeeping was excellent. The choice and quality of the Breakfast was delicious. We can't fault this hotel and hope to come back soon.
The breakfast was so poor that I dreaded going down for breakfast. Not even a vase of flowers or presentation of food just to feast your eyes. The breakfast location was changed due to renovation and no hot food was available. Eggs were pre made and served. The hash browns looks recooked and served as the colour got darker each day!!! The bacon got stiffer each day...which meant....... The entrance is now relocated for renovation . I would suggest you wait for renovations to be completed before checking in or to save money book a room without breakfast. There are lots and lots of shops to eat just outside the hotel.
