Score from 82 reviews Exceptional
Lengthy wait for breakfast, not enough attention with coffee refills.
Lovely building. Great location. Nice friendly staff, Fantastic breakfast.
Décor very dated and tired.
richard the owner was very welcoming couldn't do enough for you, staff very nice, would certainly stay there again felt like home.
could not find any major faults
the evening food was extremely good. but portions fairly small
Staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked fresh to your requirements
Only a minor thing, but didn't like the smell of the soap and shower gel, so just used my own
Breakfast really good, staff all clean, friendly and presentable, comfortable mattress & pillow
Dated decor, not terribly clean, bathroom needs updating, no where to put your toiletries, difficulty in manouvring in car park
Attentive friendly staff and very good value. Nice large bedroom and pleasant breakfast room.
It's an old Victorian villa that could do with a lick of paint. Bathroom a little basic but very clean and acceptable for the price
Helpful owner and staff. Lovely hot water in bathroom. Excellent breakfast and service. Lovely big bedroom and very quiet.
Very old fashioned. Needs modernising. Blankets not a quilt on the bed! Garden could be lovely but overgrown and untidy.
Location Decor Room
Food Bar closed very early Bed not comfortable Expensive
Beautiful house on a really nice road. Really good value nice room spotless bedding and towels and a really good hot well cooked breakfast served by a most pleasant and helpful young lady.Would stay there again we were very comfortable.
The porch could do with a bit of a clean up we had to wait for the owner quite a while to answer the door so we did notice that there were cigarette ends and empty bottles near the door. once inside everything else was really good.
The breakfast Large bedroom with toiletries Quietish location Clean sheets and towels Comfy bed
First impressions of exterior, a bit worn and old fashioned.
Breakfast was good
Location too far from town centre to walk Decor a bit dated
The fact that I was kept waiting in the car park for 25 mins unable to gain entry, The owner made me feel he was doing me a huge favour allowing me to stay, There was no chef so no food, it was dirty and smelly, when I pulled back the covers on the bed there was no duvet, it was a grubby old blanket and once the sheet was pulled back spiders were running about the bed, totally and utterly disgusting
size of room and furnishings. Had dinner in the dining room and the menu was a credit to the chef. . . . fresh produce prepared and cooked well. The breakfast was also first class.
Bathroom needs a little re-vamping - silicon coming away from bath - nothing major.
Location was great, between Southport and Churchtown and near my friend's house. It's less than two miles walk to Southport town center. Also a park around the corner.
Staff where all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend.
Rooms a bit tired but very clean and comfortable.
Bed was very comfortable, despite being by the road it was fairly quiet. Breakfast was excellent and the girls serving it were polite.
Broken tiles in the bathroom were dangerous, there was a bath with a shower extension however it was very difficult to wash my hair as no upright shower or curtain so floor got very wet. Despite advertising that there is a bar this was closed at 9.15pm on a Saturday evening. No staff were around at all at anytime until breakfast so was unable to ask for WiFi code or make comments about the bathroom, despite ringing the bell in reception which nobody answered.
Lovely big room. Pet friendly so I could bring my dof Alfie. Made very welcomed.
Nothing, all good!
The convenience of access after hours the very good breakfast cooked to order and very nice staff
The very creaky bedroom floorboards
Food very good, bed comfortable and parking good.
Needs a bit of updating
lovely old house retaining many old features, room was good size and well furnished with large comfy bed. Food was excellent and breakfast was great too.Would definitely stay again if visiting Southport.
Close proximity to my family. Staff very welcoming on arrival.
Felt a bit apprehensive when showering as there was no bath mat.
Location, good for our visit.
Furnishings worn and very outdated. Shower above bath had small circular curtain, far too small Breakfast poor quality and not cooked well
Staff were really welcoming, breakfast (full English not Continental as stated when booked) was fantastic. Rooms full of character. Would recommend
not much of a bar and slightly bad location in that needed a taxi into Southport Town Centre
Breakfast was delicious
Staff were not interested in serving any snacks and their restaurant was full. We were in a tiny attic room, which was awkward for my 6ft 3 husband and his back problems
