Location and staff Windows dirty building very tired , this hotel is old and it shows. Nice room ruined by shower head, a small issue which could so easily be resolved but has obviously not been maintained. Overall appearance of hotel is shabby, blown sealed units in windows which ruin what would be a lovely view from dining area

Nice location and friendly staff. The TV was a 14" flat screen which is way too small for the room.

Quiet location. Attractive restaurant and garden. Rather dowdy--needs a facelift with a touch of paint, fresh carpets, curtains etc

The room was comfortable, tea coffee facilities good, friendly reception. The restaurant. Dinner limited food choices. Given restaurant not busy a ridiculous wait for our meals. The same unacceptable wait for breakfast, had to again ask waitress what the problem was in the kitchen???? Public mix-up that we hadn't booked breakfast, it had been booked and paid for>

Nothing. Very poor value for money - should have been priced around £40 per night for B&B rather than the extortionate £95. The decor is tacky, it has that old cheap hotel smell, the toiletries are cheap there is no bottled water in the rooms, there's only instant coffee on the hospitality tray and for that price I would expect a caffetiere and proper coffee, the vegetarian menu was almost non-existent and lacked any imagination, the non-wheat bread I had ordered for my breakfast toast turned out to be hard rolls, unsuitable for toasting and impossible to eat, the eggs were not cooked as requested.

our evening dinner was excellent, In fact we are so impressed we are planning a family dinner there for later in the year. The exterior of the hotel is rather off-putting (1970's concrete) but once inside the reception is attractive and spacious; pleasant and helpful staff. No lift but our room was on the first floor so only meant one flight of stairs. Help was offered with our suitcase. Would recommend.
