The hotel was cold, turn the heating up.
The staff could not do enough to help us.
My partner did not get chips with his steak. When we queried this with the waitress she said chips were not included on this menu. However they were and we were given our drinks and coffee taken off the bill to compensate.
Service was fantastic, staff very helpful and friendly
Never had any bad experiences with anything
Attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere
I had chosen a room with bathtub and assumed this was the stand alone tub however this wasn't the case. This could be down to the change of room names and how booking.com is advertising rooms but that was the only negative.
Location,facilities and atmosphere were excellent.
Service in the bar was too slow on 2 consecutive evenings which made us late for our dinner reservations, also on both evenings I didn't receive the drinks I ordered. This was very disappointing as the overall atmosphere in the bar area was very comfortable and relaxing.
Room size, no food in bar after 5pm, no minibar in room, dust in the room. Overall extremely disappointed
Room, staff, food, facilities and general decor.
the feel of Cameron House
the reservation system
Lovely room, breakfast, carrick spa was an amazing experience
cameron grill was overpriced for quality of food
Beautiful room and amazing view!
Sadly not a great dining experience due to a rude/loud guest sat on the oppressive table who was not spoken to regarding his unacceptable behaviour/language.
Wonderful 2 night stay for a special birthday. Couldn't fault anything. Will definitely return.
Pretentious and twee
Arriving at Cameron House felt like driving up to Downton Abbey and the service was so smooth and courteous that it felt like we were coming home. Many hotels try and achieve this but few truly reach this standard. CH's pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna are great especially on a wet afternoon outside. Small golf course nearby was just right for all levels. A world-class one up the road too. Pony-trecking brilliant. Food at grill was very good. CH more than lived up to our expectations.
Everything was top knotch.
an upgraded room with coffee machine and full sky TV package was excellent Pool and other fitness facilities Breakfast
Felt insufficient number of bar staff in afternoons lead to longer waits for service and meals (Scott Bar) on 31 Dec all catering facilities closed down at 3pm for a while to reopen Not all guests want to attend Hogmany functions We stayed a further third night but felt rather disappointed and restricted to our room due to the Hogmany functions. on arrival on 29 Dec, Reception ushered / urged us to book into the Boathouse. "2 minute" walk was inaccurate on extremely cold evening. Felt we were not adequately advised of other options / restaurants (within the hotel)
Fantastically helpful and considerate staff from restaurant to front desk to housekeeping. Superb breakfast and despite being busy, quiet, comfortable places to retreat to and curl up with a book. Will definitely be back.
This was a 'major' anniversary treat and we were spoilt the first two nights as we stayed in one of the beautiful main house rooms which despite the thick dust around the mirror, was wonderful. We moved rooms for a third night's stay and although it was still very nice and comfortable, it seemed half the size and nothing like as plush. None of this would matter but we paid pretty much the same price for both rooms. (Perhaps the lovely staff upgraded us the first time........?)
We were traveling through Scotland over Christmas and New Year and in order to spoil ourselves we had only booked 5 stars accommodations. My perception of the Cameron House was exclusive, with personal service as well as excellent food. Unfortunately nothing of this turned out to be true. The place is too commercial!!! A big holiday park with too many rooms so that the overall facilities are crowded and stressful. You feel like a number in a vacation factory! We were looking forward to eat at the Michelin Star Restaurant from Martin Wishart - no place available, the same in the Cameron Grill and the Boat House. We got the recommendation to book at the Carrick described to be a cosy little restaurant with free transfer. It turned out to be the club house of the ajacent golf course - a sports bar with running TV, some drunken gentleman and a more than below average food offer! In summary we did not get back the value for the high room rate that we payed.
Food great, facilities good, staff professional
Room was nice but not quite as nice as our last stay at CH
Concierge service excellent Bedding and toiletries luxurious Foyer beautiful ( chefs very talented with Christmas display) Location wonderful
Queuing for breakfast Not being able to accommodate us for dinner till after 9pm (ate out) Carrick Spa dirty, untidy, tired and seriously overpriced
well-furnished room restaurants Wishart & Grill James & colleagues at the Concierge position on the Loch
too few staff when the hotel is busy, service levels poor for this standard of hotel good for families, but not if you are not travelling with children, avoid sauna & steam unless you dont mind the sound of kids screaming from the adjacent pool room is dark wifi in my room was poor
I liked the rooms and location service at breakfast Very good .
Not good value been many times but seems to have lost their 5 star standard had to return a meal in the bar as it was cold then had to wait 10 min on cutlery after asking twice. Tea cut at breakfast was all brown marks inside It hadn't been cleaned properly if your going to pay 5 star rates then you would expect it to be 5 star service
Location and ambience
Overpriced despite its obvious attractions.
Just along from our room was a trip hazard on the seem of the carpet in the corridor ????
Everything was perfect. A bit too busy but the pricey room rate clearly doesn't deter customers.
a very good feeling of stay at Cameron House, Lomond
