It is luxurious in a wonderful setting. The welcome was excellent and my car was parked for me. we had a meal in the Boathouse Restaurant and were chauffeured there and back.. Great breakfast
I thought that the bathroom could be cleaner especially the grout between the tiles and the shower was not great. The meal at the Boathouse Restaurant was good but not spectacular.
The very poor service of the barmen at the scots bar. Very slow and in attentive. Had to wait almost ten mins for drinks. There was less than a dozen guests in the bar with 4 barmen!!
Location Staff Leisure Center Breakfast
Room was small Furniture too big for small room could not see out of window from oversised chair Only possible to view Loch Lomond through small window when sitting on bed. paid extra £30 per night for this !
Location of hotel excellent, old charm and very cosy. Decor superb. All staff was pleasant and very helpful.
Bar staff struggled to keep up with drink orders, seemed short staffed. Sometimes waited 20-30 minutes for drinks. Had a meal with 12 friends, some had finished their starters and onto their mains before others had been given their starters! One of our party had to wait nearly an hour for their car on the day of checking out.
Location and facilities
A little cold ....something's a little expensive... Added 10% on restaurant bills!
Great location, and great facilities. Showcases the very best of Scottish hospitality. Italian barman in Great Scots bar was exemplary. A true professional who couldn't have done more for us.
Cameron Grill. Staff and service not great for such a great hotel. Didn't explain the salmon platter we ordered, and had to try and stop staff to get an explanation, and tried to clear our oysters before we'd finished. Basic errors.
Fabulous location. Tasteful decor. Friendly and helpful staff.
The location, beautiful hotel, lovely friendly staff who treated us like royalty as we were on honeymoon.
This was my first visit. I've been to Gleneagles, Turnberry, Fairmont etc, so looked forward this visit for my mother's 80th. The hotel succeeded in projecting its Scottishness through carpets, paintings, prints and staff attire. Bed was very comfortable. Liked? Not much else.
First impression - noise and disorganisation. Not enough space to express my disappointments; is it meant to a 5 star hotel or a weekend social club? GROSSLY OVER-PRICED or delivering low value for money. Hotel was dark, rooms grey.Phones not working; lifts are there for disabled but building not designed to help; reception area too small; wedding function noisy and affected any relaxation for non-guests; wrong bill on fast check out; wrong room allocated...............if I was an overseas visitor, I'd be appalled. As a Scotsman, I'd be embarrassed to take that money from tourists.
The attention to detail by the staff. All very helpful, knowledgable. The ambience and comfort of the whole hotel. The Christmas decorations, log fires and food!
The signage to the rooms - or lack of! Not easy to see/read! Quite dark along those dark and never ending corridors. Not easy to open the individual lavatory doors from the inside - the doors are very heavy and there is no handle to hold to open the door on the inside to get out!
Facilities, staff, breakfast were all top notch. I couldn't recommend Cameron House highly enough. Stay was fantastic and will definitely be returning.
Traditional and stylish decor Gorgeous views over Loch Lomond Advice from staff re walks We went just as the Christmas decorations went up and the atmosphere was lovely. Good breakfast
Food in the Boathouse restaurant not good value for money.
Hotel was beautiful, XMAS decorations were lovely, and it was a special occasion celebrating our 6th year Anniversay and we were kindly upgraded, which was a great surprise.
The first night we dined in the grill room, and the food was delicious. However, there was a mix up regarding who was serving us and we were left for around 30mins before asking if we would be served. I'm glad to say we were offered a drink on the house to rectify the situation, however you do not expect this from a 5* hotel. When Ben served us however, he was a fantastic waiter.
The hotel is very atmospheric, great for relaxing in your room or the health club. The views over the Loch were breathtaking.
The food and beverage provision is under staffed and over priced! On every visit the bar staff cannot cope with visitors in the day time. They need more resource. The grill restaurant is overpriced and a limited choice unless you want a £35+ steak. Even then they over cooked it. Several small requested to room service forgotten. This visit not as good as the last few.
Top class hotel great atmosphere
Location and scenery excellent Martin wishart restaurant amazing and staff highly efficient day time activities at hotel shooting was very good aswell
Breakfast experience wasn't great staff seemed untrained and uninterested first day didn't receive menu or butter with the toast second day again no butter with the toast but was giving a menu then only to find the salt was missing from the table!!!
The location The staff The spa Cameron grill
Staff professionalism Facilities Rooms
Not staying there longer
Service of staff was excellent, our every request was dealt with immediately, nothing was too. Ugh for them.
The TV was difficult to fully operate as one of the remote controls was missing.
The spa was fab and the staff very helpful. Food was good at boathouse but the drinks are extremely over priced
Drink prices. Shocking
Everything that we hoped for, from the view to the room the food and the staff all was wonderful.
There was nothing I didn't like only slight criticism I have is I wish the room prices were always at the discount rate we recieved.
Staff were great
Hotel Location and Decor and Carrick golf course
Really slow service in Bars and restaurants. Went for breakfast and had to wait 30 mins for coffee as the "machine was warming up". 2 x Steaks in the Cameron Grill were only just warm, returned for re-heating and were not much better. In fairness the did deduct Champagne from the bill.
The room was amazing that was perfectly set out. With an amazing view.
The only let down for me was my dinner resavation didn't get saved onto the system.
Absolutely everything! I can't fault this hotel, from warm, welcoming staff to amazing food and atmosphere, it was one of the best hotel's we've ever stayed in, in fact we stayed an extra night. Can't wait to go back.
