At £42 we didn't expect this hotel to be anything more than basic but basic is an understatement! Resembling an old holiday camp with woodchip walls and grubby carpets the room had a strong smell of urine. As we had arrived late and were leaving early we didnt ask to move but would certainly had if we had been staying longer. Before booking this hotel you should be aware that there are no power points in the room so no charging of phones or laptops or using hairdriers. This was a disgracful situation and one which the company should make aware to customers before booking. The companies claim to be an eco friendly one is based purely on the fact that you cannot use any electricity!!!

Breakfast was good. The Campari was watered down but the price wasn'T. The car park barrier would not rise to allow entry. There was a light bulb missing in the room. Noisy, inadequate sound proofing causing disruption to sleep. The staff were apathetic.

The rooms were very basic & old fashioned. Hotel seems to mainly be used for youngsters going out in Basildon so is very rowdy. Room did not have any plug sockets so difficult to charge phone, iron clothes, dry & straighten hair.

We were greeted warmly when we arrived and advised of all facilities avaliable to us. As we were going out for the evening a taxi was arranged for us. Breakfast the following morning was excellent.

The price was very competitive and the cooked breakfast was excellent. The rooms were dirty and smelled of tobacco and damp. There was a crude drawing, draw in the dirt on the window. The whole place looked and felt like a series of rabbit hutches, certainly not as advertised - a hotel.

Less costly than other hotels plus very near to where I am currently working The hotel needs a total revamp. Rooms I have stayed in have had a cracked toilet, cracked sink, torn curtains, faulty extractor, chipped desktops, faulty heater, missing vent in the bathroom, smelly (sewage smell). Some of the exterior woodwork is rotten with rusty metalwork and cracking concrete.

It was great to have free wi-fi. Often hotels, especially expensive ones(!) charge you for wi-fi. Good quality TV with freeview. Ample parking. Free tea & coffee. There was no hairdryer in the room, so I was unable to do my hair before the event I had. The bed was on wheels and if sitting in bed watching TV and you went to move yourself, the bed rolled away from the wall creating a big gap. The shower head needed to be replaced/descaled. Finally, having not read that it was a "continental" breakfast included in the room price, we ordered the english breakfast option on arrival at the restaurant and only found out we had to pay more on check-out. It would be better customer service if the waiter/ress offered the english breakfast as the "upgrade" that it actually is and therefore would cost you money. There was no indication whatsoever it would be at an additional price.

The location was great as attending an Open Day locally. The room smelt of stale sweat. Room wasn't cleaned well as found someone elses old sock behind the second door. As a sols female traveller I didn't feel that safe. Quite a lot of noise from the nearby road (traffic).

It's availability. Motel not a Hotel, located beside a major road that doesn't quiten down till approx 3AM. Rooms require desperate modenization, (Double glazing, a ventilator fan in the bathroom, a fridge would be nice, Twin room not suitable for a family of 3). Overpriced 2 star (barely) Motel.

Location - although sat nav will take you past the junction and you need to travel along the carridgeway before being able to turn arround - can be frustrating the rooms are tired - but if its just a room they are fine

great value for money especially as breakfast included! Had no towels in bathroom on arrival. Bed not particularly comfortable and road noise from the A127 all night! Have stayed here previously and not experienced any of these issues. Although it was the first time we had been allocated a room in the block nearest the main road.

Staff are friendly and approachable Very very basic. One single socket serves the whole room. Strange smell exists. On par with any budget hotel, but the photo on the web site positions it alongside premier inn which this certainly isn't!
