This design-led hotel has an excellent location in central Cardiff, and gives views out over the city. Stylish rooms offer free Wi-Fi, just 330 ft from Cardiff Central Train and Bus Station.
Score from 1006 reviews Very good
I was expecting the room to be quite chilly but in fact it was lovely and warm.
The bed was really uncomfortable and noisy. My room was on the 1st floor and from about 7am what sounded like a generator was running from the room below mine. Also, my room faced the car park and there was a lot of early morning activity going on so if you want to sleep in ask for a room at the back!
Food Steak was unedable and sent back. Car park on steep slope would be impossible to get out of if stiff frost overnight
I never write reviews for anything but this is a must ... The staff attitude was snotty for such a basic cheep run down motel the staff spoke down towards me . I am use to staying at 4 to 5 star hotel chains however this night I ended up in that dive ! I had a room next to me that was used has a brothel and 3 young girls running up and down the outside hallway screaming .. The record was dreadful and only one plug in the accommodation I could not watch tv while charging my phone and had to alternate my laptop and phone with the power socket the hairdryer almost killed me heated up smelt bad banged and produced smoke !! This place was the pits avoid at all costs !!!
the price the location not far from park & ride
ran out of drinks in bar no cider ( i have celiacs) & no rose wine difficulty getting taxi on Saturday night water pumps behind wall quite noisy & annoying running intermitatly through the night
Location price ease of parking individual room privacy
Room a bit tired BUT great value for city accommodation
Wifi and comforness in the room
Improve wifi range
Shocked that I was charged £1.95 for a can of coke
Carpet in rooms have strange smell, have been here few times and once asked for another room because of this (stale) smell.Would be good to have these replaced.
Friendly Staff Easy to find
- Surprised about the quoted price and then the higher final price. - breakfast not included, extra price 3 times more than in the city. - hot water system starts at 06:00 with a huge noise. - transport needed to reach the City. - rooms not soundproof at all.
Easy check in and bedrooms very comfortable. Also quiet at night compared to other hotels.
Taxi varies from £11.50 to £15 each way to centre but very reasonable if 4 of you.;
Staff we're very helpful and went out of the way to accommodate us.
Room (3) was cold and took ages to warm up. Bar/restaurant area freezing. Constant noise during the night rendered sleep impossible. Supposedly it was a new water pump in the roof space that was causing a noise. Sounded if water was being pumped all night long!
It was excellent value for money. We had a delicious evening meal and super breakfast. The road signs to the hotel were excellent.
Nothing to dislike
The staff very helpful. I was visiting my daughter in ICU Heath Hospital, I arrived early, staff changed my room, took my case up the stairs for me. So I could rest before going to the hospital. All staff cheerful nothing too much trouble.
just one small draw back, going out of building to restaurant. Perhaps newer buildings have changed.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Parking seemed more than adequate and it was very quaint. It reminded me of an American motel or something off of Crossroads. It was very clean and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was one of the best I've tasted in a long time.
It was built on a steep slope but that's more geography and it was Wales lol!!!
Location was perfect and value for money.
Didn't like the steep hill for parking. But plenty of spaces at the bottom.
The warmth of the room and everything needed on hand.
The hilly parking and at "home time" being stuck at the "T" junction on the lane approach
The hotel itself is really more of a motel, so tends to be quieter I think, also sufficiently out of Cardiff so as to not attract the up al night sort of crowd
Warning - Was booked through the site selecting pay at hotel in cash, the hotel charged my card without telling me. This caused me to go overdrawn and nearly bounced a car payment as my card was on file for the whole group of us that went travelling. If booking with this hotel, I recommend that you only do so if you are happy paying by card and not being notified until you check out!!!
staff, very clean and food great
rooms too small, bathtub pointless as tiny ..and a charge for early check in that was not said on bookings..£15 to check in by 12 oclock instead of 2pm ..rediculous price..
Were attending my dads funeral. So needed to check in by 11am on 3/10/14 in Pentwyn, Cardiff. Our request was denied. We were could check in by 11pm which we advisd we would abide by. Unfortunately our taxi let us down .We spent the night in the car . I really feel that this was very impersonal and inflexible of the staff. We checked in our room at 7am and out at 11.30. We were unable to arrend work the following day.
Friendly staff,good breakfast
Staff put themselves out when we needed feeding when the restaurant was closed. Clean bed linen and very comfy bed. Quite quiet location, not much traffic noise.
Very steep driveway into the hotel. Would'nt like to visit when icy. Basic room decor. No slip mat in the bath/shower. A bit remote. Can't really complain as was reasonably priced.
Ten minutes from the work place
Food limited menu. But not to expensive.
Due to the hotels location, it was very quiet. Also, the range of food at breakfast was very good.
