Good location for Beamish Outdoor Museum

Hotel generally seemed slightly run down looking...could do with freshening up.

When we checked in on the 4/5/12, the receptionist was unfriendly. Secondly there was no option for breakfast, this is customer unfriendly, as some of us wouldn't settle for continental breakfast instead of having that, I would have preferred to swap for cooked breakfast instead of paying £2.75. The other thing there was smell of cigarette and linen were not changed.

We cannot rate our stay high enough,the staff were amazingly friendly,helpful and welcoming. We have a large dog and he was welcomed with enthusiasm too,it is often a problem to find dog friendly accomodation that also does not charge the earth for them! The fresh fruit and superb bread and pastries for breakfast were really excellent and there was a lovely relaxed and comfortable feel. All in all,superb.

Efficiancy of the hotel staff and cleaning staff. Lovely continental breakfast.

Location was excellent for our visit to sunderland. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Rooms were light, airy and very clean. Choice for a continental breakfast was extensive and staff made a particular fuss over my 9 year old grandson, which made hiom feel important. A very pleasant stay and we will be back.

It was an ideal base to visit relatives in felling. I was looking for a hotel with disable rooms.

The toilet in the room needed a pull down arm on both sides of the toilet, to make it ease to push off the seat.

Easy access to a1m. Easy parking. Good room heating for a freezing period.

The restaurant was effectively closed on Sunday with no warning or advice to guests either in rooms or in the area ways to the rooms. I did not find this out until the very time I wanted to use it. There was no reason to check further as the advertising in the rooms made no reference to any time of week limitation. Thus I had the trouble in an area unknown to me of finding a meal. Fortunately I did and was able to do without the following breakfast as well. The hotel thus lost two meals from me. There was a couldn't care less attitude from the staff on the Sunday evening concerned.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice clean hotel.

deserves 3 star plus in my opinion , clean, friendly staff , all in all a pleasre to stay there .

Cannot fault the staff - they were friendly

The rooms were dated and grubby. The doors in the room didnt shut properly. The kettle smelt. The room was overall tired and unappealing
