All the staff were friendly and helpful especially the manager. The room was clean and warm the continental breakfast was excellent value for money fresh and plentiful. We enjoyed two evening meals in the hotel restaurant enough variety on the menu to suit all 5 in our party and nice to have the choice of the dish of the day and starter. Close to the train station so we were able to get into York without having to take the car. We will certainly stay here again

Good facilities within the room, considering the price paid. Quiet location despite proximity of Industrial Estate. Strange odour in room, which also requires refurbishing.

The room was clean and comfortable with all the neccesary requirements. The restaurant was also a good standard with plenty of choice for the continental breakfast and also a good variety of drinks. As tea bags are not expensive perhaps it would be possible to provide four as some people would like either a second cup or a cup of tea before retiring for the night. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast did not match up to the continental one. Although the food looked o.k on the plate the flavour let it down as there was an odd taste to it which was not recognisable

Quiet location, clean comfortable room, although limited view from ground floor, Friendly staff, good evening meal, (although limited menu) Heated bathroom, and always very hot water. with sensible shower bath for a tall person could be a little longer!. Breakfast times and presentation, from 0700,at weekends, excellent self service, fresh fruit, tea coffee, toast etc, with all the other alternatives. For one or two nights I found no problem.

We went for a weekend whilst visiting family. As it was on a business park it was a quiet location but can imagine it gets noisy with traffic during the week. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. When we checked in we were warned that a large party who were likely to be boisterous and noisy were staying so they put us in a room which was as far away from them as possible and we were not disturbed by them at all. Also, when we said one evening we were not hungry enough for a large meal one of the staff, whom we took to be the Manager, made us some lovely sandwiches which were not on the menu. The continental breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit which is not always available at a higher-priced hotel. The bar was not very well stocked with only two choices of wine by the glass, no sherry and no Tia Maria - but I do understand that it was primarily a businessman's hotel who would not, in the main, have wanted the particular drinks that I did. A couple of tumblers in the bathroom would have been helpful.

It is the best pet friendly hotel, as there is a grassy area immediately outside of the room, and a canal path adjoining the site. Drunk and rowdy guest, keeping us awake from 4am.

Continental breakfast! Didn't expect it to be so good. Fresh fruit, etc. Price was good. Wish they had a fire in the log burner rather than a couple of red lights.

Not a lot ! The water was always hot and the television was good although had no instructions, thats about it. It was reminiscent of holiday camp chalets.Very basic with exterior stairs to your room,(no lifts) we are pensioners and struggled with our cases to the top floor. Bathroom was cold & stark with small wall heater, bath was very deep and awkward to get into for a shower with no hand rails, only one hook, so nowhere to hang towels or clothes, non slip mats only provided on request, and no hand towels provided. The whole place is very tired and needs total refurbishment. it's in the middle of an industrial area and by far the worst Camponile we have ever stayed in.
