Score from 639 reviews Fabulous
overall ambiance, cathedral entrance fee included. Good breakfast.
Can be difficult to find if travelling by car
Great breakfast menu, lots of choices
Was told sausages were gluten free for first 2 days then told they were not on day 3 - same sausages though ... Confusing and could have been very bad news. Also would be good to provide bottled water in rooms as tap water was quite warm.
The view of the Cathedral
Bed and room small, shower was awkward. Breakfast disappointing.
The party that they hosted in one of their buildings kept us awake
The location was great, so was the staff and the breakfast was nice.
The bed itself was not very comfortable and the shower, while the shower head was very nice and strong, the shower was so small it was impossible to move out from under the water to shampoo hair etc.
Too noisy at Christmas with parties/discos etc. The cathedral bells are to be expected but not screaming drunk people!
Fantastic location, very clean, good staff, value for money, great parking. Highly recommended. Also the discount card for nearby restaurants and food was well worth having. Our family of five had very comfortable accommodation and being so close to the Cathedral was wonderful.
The view from the hotel of the Cathedral is amazing and it is very convienient to explore the shops/tea rooms and restaurants! The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was 10/10!
Every traveller's room has a view of the Cathedral which is fantastic. And it is so close to the Cathedral enabling one to easily attend the services. The shops and restaurants are "right on your doorstep". Fabulous location and the service (including the comprehensive and nicely cooked breakfast) was impeccable.
The location was perfect for me, staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was just what was needed after a long night.
The guests next dor were quite noisy, i couldn't get a good night's rest.
position central to Cathedral and shops

You are inside the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral - AMAZING, the hotel is exceptionally comfortable with an attentive staff
Very noisy party which interrupted sleep. I felt the staff could have been a little more proactive in keeping the noise down
Loved the hotel,Cathedral, restaurants and shops. We loved everything. Staff so friendly and helpful. My husband has been unwell and we were afraid we would have to cancel but location made it so easy. Recommending Lodge already. Well done and thank you.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Very helpful staff and really good facilities
The setting is amazing, actually in the cathedral grounds. get a room with a view.
Location, Location and a great breakfast. Best hotel WiFi I have experienced in years.
Bed a bit soft for us, but otherwise room lovely.
Comfortable rooms Good breakfast Excellent views Very helpful staff when sorting parking
Beautiful room with a Cathedral view. Large & very comfortable kingsize bed. Lovely & quiet room. When booking the room I mentioned that we were newlyweds visiting. We were given a complimentary upgrade upon check in to our lovely room with Cathedral view. Thank you so much CCL! Breakfast was lovely with lots if choice & prompt efficient service. Excellent location & facilities. We will definitely be returning.
Comfort of bed,peacefulness
Trying to find it with one way systems etc
The hotel architecture and grounds were lovely and sympathetic with cathedral surroundings. Staff in the restaurant were extremely efficient and professional making breakfast a very pleasant experience.
Rooms were rather small and without baths. A cosy bar to retreat to or meet people in would not have gone amiss.
Canterbury Lodge couldn't be closer to the Cathedral, it's in beautiful surroundings, easy to get to and right in the middle of a lovely city. Breakfast was great, bed was so comfy, i slept like a baby. Couldn't hear any other guests the whole time we were there and was quite surprised to see quite a few people at breakfast, staff lovely and helpful. Only thing is we didn't realise you had to go through the gate to get into the cathedral to get to the hotel but that was probably us not researching properly. Otherwise everything was fab!!
Friendly, great breskfasr loverly location
Very nice, quite & comfortable. It was really nice to be on site of the Cathederal. Next time, I will book directly with the Lodge & stay in the main building.
I would have liked to stay in the main Lodge. We were 'housed' in the rear block, probably due to last minute 'deal'.
