Excellent location, with clean comfortable rooms and pleasant staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Lodge for tourists, families or a business trip. |

It was very convenient to the City and Cathedral and car parking was a bonus. The advantages of staying at the Lodge included discounts at certain shops and resturants. The Lodge is different to many Hotels but still most enjoyable. |

The proximity to the university was excellent given that we were attending a ceremony in the cathedral and we were able to park in the grounds as we were staying at the lodge. The central location is also very good for tourists and those wishing to shop in the city centre. The bed was most uncomfortable. There was no easy chair or coffee table, or even a table to put our case on. The hotel forgot our wake-up call which was rather inconvenient. |

I liked the peace and quiet but still being right in the hub of a city with shops and city activities on the doorstep. The garden looked lovely although not warm enough to sit out. It was a memorable experience and one I should like to return to. |

The location, inside the precinct, was fantastic - able to visit cathedral early morning before the crowds and very quiet though absolutely central. Staff excellent. Breakfast lovely, lots of choice, better than most cooked breakfasts. It doesn't have a lot of facilities but I would definitely recommend it for a short stay. Not a criticism but a note for future bookers, as others have said it's difficult to find - once you've booked, email the hotel with car details and they will send you full instructions with map. |

The hotel is enclosed within the walls of Canterbury cathedral, approached by road which are closed to traffic and accessed via a security gate - clear directions would have been extremely useful on a dark, rainy evening. It felt more like a conference centre based in a university than a hotel and felt very 'worthy'. Having said which it was good value for money |

The location of the hotel and the quietness around it. Also, the view of the Cathedral from the room, and the comfortability and cleanliness of the room. The limit time to have breakfast in the morning (9am) could be widen until 9:30/10am. |

As already stated, the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The rooms were spotless and although small, held everything you needed. One criticism would be that there was only 1 chair for a room shared by 2 people. However, the library was an excellent alternative. I did wonder if it was quite right to have the public use of a computer in the library as if you wished to read or study the theological books available the tapping of the keyboiard was distracting. |
