The proximity to the ferry port
Rooms stuffy & hot
Clean modern building with restaurant in house.
Traffic noise during night from adjacent main road.
The hotel was easy to find and accessibility good. The rooms were well appointed and clean and all staff extremely helpful and pleasant . We were en route to Dover and this was an excellent position for an early morning start if crossing the channel.
Cleanliness and comfortable
poor access ,entrance not signposted very well without sat nav we would have missed it.Also not much choice on menu
nothing to say
Good room Very clean Hotel
Hotel is easy to miss when coping with traffic on busy main road. A little bacon and fried egg would have been very nice at breakfast time
Possible links into Canterbury city perhaps a shuttle bus at a reasonable price .
Unable to get into city unless drive or taxi which proved to expensive for day and evening visit
The hotel was quiet. The rooms were very clean, and everything worked. The breakfast was very good, with variety.
There was no lift, and I could see many people struggling with heavy bags to the first floor. We had a lot of bags. The wifi was very slow.
Price included breakfast. Easy access to Canterbury. Quiet room.
Close to A2.
Staff very friendly
Not enough of a lounge area Dining room like a school canteen.
Within close proximity to business meeting
Off the beaten track
The Friday night curry night was great no need to get a taxi into town ...the breakfast is in with the price and just what is needed a full English with cereal and fruit a plenty
clean room with fan. Excellent breakfast.
asked for a quiet room, got a room with an adjoining door, other people very noisey.Conferance room being used by a religious group, very very noisey. Hard to get to when coming out of Canterbury, its on the other side of bypass.
They are very close to the channel tunnel and it really doesn't matter how late you arrive. There was a curry on the night we were there and I can definitely recommend that.
Like most Holiday Inn Expresses (not all of them!) it is definitely a one night only, anonymous kind of place to stay.
Very friendly staff who coped extremely well serving dinner (and as coach parties encouraged meant lots of hungry people at the same time), whilst they also had to cover the bar (again lots of people wanting service) and also covering Reception. Well done to those we saw working so hard during our three day stay. Can't really fault anything (apart from no bacon at breakfast - yes I know breakfast is 'free' but it would have been nice to include some anyway!). Traffic noise constant as right next to A2, didn't bother us as we live in noisy traffic area anyway, but as weather was hot windows were open all night and for some this may be annoying. Probably ok during less warm weather and closed windows. Good location for our 3day stay as central for all places we wanted to visit and easy to get back to at night. Would use it again if in the area.
Very badly signposted, blink and you would miss the turnoff into the petrol station which leads into the hotel. Which would then involve long detour to get back to it. Definitely need Satnav or knowledge of area, so you don't drive past it. Plus no bacon at breakfast, just awful sausages!! (Rest of food was good though, plenty of it and ok to go back for second helpings if you wanted).
Signage poor. Could not see hotel or sign until we had past the exit.
At night the continually running noisy bathroom extractor fan was very disturbing .
Breakfast was pathetic.no english breakfast.. only over scrambled eggs sausage and beans....menu for meals over priced.... Lasagne..£11. well overpriced
Comfortable Standard rooms
Not particular friendly Receptionist, far from Canterbury center, noise from Highway
It was basic but clean and had plenty of parking.
the location next to the A2 road was handy because the hotel was very easy to find.
I would have appreciated a heads-up from somebody at reception about the fact that they would CLOSE DOWN the A2 road completely after 8 pm. Went out for dinner in central Canterbury and couldn't get back to the hotel because of road works. We had to be escorted by highway maintenance along with a whole slew of other confused and lost tourists who had no idea the road to the hotel would be blocked. Roadworks had been going on for 2 days already, so they should have known this at the front desk and told us about it. Wifi didn't work at all in the room until eleven at night.
Clean Let us store our bicycles Free wifi (very slow however)
Extremely overpriced Bedroom boiling hot - ne The breakfast was appalling - terrible quality processed food of the lowest common denominator
location, misrepresented not in a village its on the side of the A2 dual carriage way. fleas in the room Shower appalling loud plumbing noise from other rooms terrible traffic noise staff rude and lazy breakfast appalling
Been before quite like it
Traffic noise Bathroom door is a poor design which caused us to trap our hand, sustaining a bruise
