In quaint gardens, The Victoria Hotel features traditional home-cooked food and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Canterbury center, and just under a mile from Canterbury Cathedral.
Score from 728 reviews Good
Just feet from Canterbury’s medieval West Gate, this charming building dates back to 1403. A former coaching inn, it offers free Wi-Fi and free parking, a short walk from the center of the city.

great room and service and a very good breakfast
Great to have free WiFi but it was very weak so hardly worth having which is a shame
Friendly staff, Good quality food. Meals good value for money.
Being able to hear the person in the next room snoring... hence thin walls.
Helpful staff Good breakfast selection Clean room
Tea and coffee making facilities were not placed by a powerpoint.
nothing to shout about
the hotel is on a main road into Canterbury that was closed all weekend for repair!!! this would have been good to know!!! as i would have booked elsewhere. & the breakfast was not up to much.
Clean comfortable large rooms.
Had to go down into the public area to get wi fi reception. The wifi limit was far too low for the basics of google earth and Gmail.
The fact it was clean fresh comfortable and the staff are great
The road noise however it didn't have any effect on the overall stay
Comfortable spacious room, freindly staff
Could not get the wifi to work
Very nice staff, good location
WiFi ever so slow, some buzzing machinery outside of my windows, was bit hard to sleep
the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were polite and helpful, and although the best dish on the menu was the salmon, there were issues.
the position of the hotel for our needs which were national trust sites. There were no fried eggs or bacon for breakfast, and the evening menu sould have been more extensive.
Proximity to final destination. Value for money. Comfort of beds.
A2 was closed when we stayed; assume there is a degree of road noise when open.
Good location for visiting Canterbury. Clean Hotel and surprisingly quiet bearing in mind that it is beside the A2. Staff were helpful.
Surprisingly good breakfast and dinner
Entrance tricky to see as it is part of the garage entrance
The Room The Bed the location
We found the staff very nice and helpful. We can recommend the pizzas. The hotel was close to where we wanted to be, with easy access to Canterbury. The breakfasts were fine. Good parking. Compensated for our inconvenience with the rooms.
We didn't like the return route from Canterbury to the hotel, as we had to go past the hotel on the A2, then travel on a dark lane with a difficult to see junction in order to get on the hotel side of the A2. The entrance to the hotel is a bit dicey off the A2. As the hotel entrance isn't all that obvious as it is hidden behind a Service Station. We had to change rooms as the first one we were given,a disabled room seemed to have a leak and the carpet was wet, which caused a musty smell in the room. We were told that the hotel was fully booked, therefore had to stay in it the first night. The second room was good but we had to carry our things up a flight of stairs as there is no lift to the first floor. To be fair we were offered help if we wanted it.
Helpful and courteous staff. Cleanliness Good food.
Convenience to Dover Ferry.
Hotel was very hard to find behind the garage. We traveled up and down the A2 before we found it.It needs a sign up on the road before the garage not straight after.it was very annoying having to keep going back and forth.
Being asked any specials requirements.
My gluten free requests where ignored ! So no gluten free sausage for breakfast and no dessert night before as no bananas.
.Location .Friendly staff .Cleanliness and Tidy .Great parking facilities .Excellent breakfast choice .TV was up to date design
.Double Bed was hard
Comfortable clean room. Good food. Good value. Convenient for Folkestone and a trip into Canterbury.
The derelict building near the entrance.
Food was good
Could t log on to wifi
the mattress wasnt good.my body was achein and didnt get any sleep.and the location is so isolated and the staff were rude and very poor customer service.
Spacious accommodation with every facility. Plenty of car parking room.
Needed more tea/milk/sugar supplies in room - only enough for one! Food could have been more varied.
Room clean, bed ok, just a shower - but a good one. Breakfast mediocre. Straight beside A2 so very convenient which is probably why it's well used and in places looking tired e.g. Threadbare carpets in places. Oh, and parking is good.
In a place where there's no mobile phone signal and no 3G. So on a business trip I felt quite isolated. Hotel wifi thus oversubscribed and very slow.
