Upgraded to a large room Very comfortable
The meal was amazing and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.
Room, garden, restaurant.
Location, Off street parking, good room size. Double glazing on windows kept the room quiet and they could be opened to let in fresh air. Spent our last two nights in England here, easy to get to Windsor Castle and Heathrow airport. The dining room offered two choices of menu, great when we only wanted a light meal
The stairs, as we had to repack our suitcases for the flight home we needed to climb the stairs with all our luggage. Would still stay here again though
good value for money
A lovely large comfortable room
The headboard creaked loudly all night
Location was lovely
Unhelpful staff on arriving we were a little early getting to hotel one hour before we could check in. We phoned to see if we could have somewhere to change for a wedding and was told they would phone back but didn't. Then got told no where for us to change other than toilets not a good start Room stank with a total overload of air freshner which we had to air the room out
Executive room well worth staying in.
didn`t update room from on line booking. Disappointing room. Honeymoon. Staff very helpful eventually got the upgrade
I like the countryside but the TV was annoying. The channels couldn't be tune and I cnt sleep without TV so I had a bad night
I like the location
Beautiful building and surrounding area.
Run by young staff, lack of experience, service poor.
amazing room, with five star bathroom and first class facilities - everything I could possibly want and all scrupulously clean, wish I could have stayed longer
could not get into room before 2pm and had to be at a wedding for 3 - only to be expected I suppose but would have been nice to have some flexibility
Food was excellent quality and staff very polite and helpful.
Reservation made many months before was not honoured, couldn't find us on the system. Had to sleep in the grooms room and as there was no housekeeping available the room was not as clean as we would have expected. Promised a refund but so far we have not received it.
Dirty carpet. Cracked cup. No hooks in bathroom. Sent polite and helpful email to management re drawbacks but did not have the courtesy of a reply
Lovely staff great location breakfast was a little dis-organised but the room and atmosphere more than made up for it.
Quite comfortable, large bed and a ground floor location. Nice hot shower and free toiletries. Lovely surroundings.
The room was very dated. Odd un-matching furniture and grubby old armchairs with no purpose. A family room when I had booked a modern room for a romantic getaway - it had 3 beds in. Mould in the bathroom. A note from the manager in the welcome book apologising for the décor (in 2011) and it still looked as though nothing had been done. They lost my checkout details and then tried to claim hadn't paid and tried to take the money a second time. I had paid cash and they had no record. I complained and they apologised saying it was down to admin error. All in all not a great experience.
One rude waiter. All other staff were great.
> TV remote didn't work > room very tired and in poor condition > bathroom was grubby and archaic
Beautiful setting, there for a family ceremony and the grounds are lovely
Despite requesting early check in, room wasn't ready when myself n two young daughters arrived, told to go and have a coffee in Miltons, the attached coffee shop/restaurant, to then be told when I ordered a coffee it was a problem because the till/cafe wasn't actually open, despite several people sat in there having a drink. The following morning breakfast was also in here, but despite 30plus of the family members staying in the hotel they obviously didn't expect us all to have breakfast....it was meant to be from 7.30 to 10.30, we arrived 9.45, no breakfast left, they cooked more, then no bowls for my daughters cereal, when they brought bowls then there wasn't milk, then no glasses for juice, it was unorganised chaos n Miltons is unfortunately what let's Cantley House Hotel down.
The hotel is comfortable with lovely friendly staff. The room was very nice with direct access onto the beautiful grounds. There was a table and chairs outside the room where you could sit and enjoy a glass of wind or coffee. The adjoining Miltons restaurant was located in a lovely old building (it looked like a converted barn) and both the hotel and Miltons restuarant are set in Cantley Park which means that the whole place has a feel of countryside. All of the staff from the receptionist to the cleaners were charming and friendly. I took my small dog with me and it was great to be able to walk out of the hotel into the adjoining Cantley Park for an early morning and evening dog walk.
There was nothing to dislike.
Food / Drink, location, staff, cleanliness.
Dated en suite, Avocado uuurrrghhh.
Loved the room with patiodoor onto garden with large lavender bushes. We had a little bistro table and chairs outside our room to sit on and read the morning papers. My husband loved the scrambled eggs and sausages. Lovely courtyard garden next to restaurant. Enjoyed ability to frequent the 'Powder room' for massage and beauty treatment. Overall oldy worldy charm and atmosphere that could do with a bit of freshing up.
Bathroom wall had a small damp patch, coffee would have been better from a cafetiere in the morning (it was from a flask and a bit bitter).
breakfast restaurant service
Beds comfortable Miltons a pleasant setting Gardens nice
Feels second rate - damp on walls in bedroom, leaking ceiling on corridor to rooms Worst imaginable service in Miltons - starters delivered to bar waiting area, had to get up twice to go to bar to ask for wine even though they took our wine order 30mins before our food arrived, over 1hr(yes!) for bread rolls, wrong mains when they eventually arrived Breakfast service no better Sunday papers arrive at check out Warm rather than hot water in rooms
Internet advert quote Wifi available in all areas, staff informed me not available in bar area when tried (mis-representation) Informed breakfast would be at 7.30, went down to find area locked up when enquiring at reception informed breakfast not till 8. All staff should give out the same message.
Very friendly, allowed us to check in very early, lovely and quiet location
Appalling lack of organisation at breakfast. Buffet kept running out, no-one was monitoring it, different things arrived at different times meaning it was impossible to have a full hot breakfast. The quality of the food was mostly okay but it was basically ruined by the chaos. I hope this is not their usual standard.
