I spend a lot of time in Hotels, and was impressed by the exceptional welcome I received. All was well explained on arrival regarding facilities, and Laura on reception was particularly helpfull. From showing me the room, to printing me off details of my intended destination for the evening. All done with a very warm, friendly professional manner. Bathroom facilities were looking tired and in need of a re-fit.

The service was extremely friendly and made us feel quite at home. It would be improved with a TV in the dining lounge area.

I like the location, the cleaness, the comfort and two of the staff. I can not sleep because of the the noise from the party until 1 am. I came across two of your staff who were extremely helpful and friendly. However, the third one were ignorant and rude. She was the one doing my ckeckout.

Friendly and convenient I was in room 12A, it was far too hot and there didn't seem to be any way to turn the heating down. Even with all the windows open it was still hot - and I am a person who is usually cold!

Everything was excellent, From the moment I arrived and my room was changed because I use two walking sticks and cannot climb stairs, I was given a double room at no extra cost. I was asked if I would like breakfast served in my room for convenience. All of the staff were brilliant, the room was clean and quiet and the food was lovely. The only fault was that Evening Meals are not served at weekends but a taxi was swiftly arranged for me to a lovely Chinese restaurant the Szechaun Inn. Al lovely place to stay. Just the lack of weekend evening meals, but easily overcome.

The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The only disappointment was that we had been told that if we got back to the hotel after 11.00, the night porter would serve us a drink/nightcap. In fact a rather rude night porter refused and said she "didn't serve drinks" and walked off. Had we known, we would have stayed wth our friends a little longer at the welcoming pub we were at.

I liked the location of the lodge due to our event being round the corner. Also having the train statino nearby would in future be seen as convenient but not too close that the noise of trains would disturb our stay. A couple of things needed improving here: 1.) When we arrived I had to personally clean the toilet seat which was very disconcerting as i'd already sat down on it. 2.) The room was extremely hot when we arrived so windows needed to be kept open at all times. I am not sure what the thermos stat was for as there were no radiators in the room.

This is a very cosy and comfortable place with exceptionally friendly and efficient staff who make you feel home away from home. This is, indeed, extraordinary. The room was very clean and well maintained; a comfortable bed; excellent WI-FI connection which I was using all the time and never had any problem with it. All the services worked perfectly well. Very good food at the restaurant, with traditional English breakfast in the morning included in the room rate. Perfect location and an excellent value for your money!

Excellent and helpful staff, very homely, very good internet, free wi-fi in the rooms. Nice full English breakfast. Excellent location - within minutes walk from the centre, the City Hall and shops in Denmark street. Very tidy, good heating. The hotel is located near railway line - my room was on the front side of the building, so the noise did not bother me at all.

The rooms are clean, the staff were very friendly and very helpfull. Didnt like the closeness to the railway line behind as the trains blow their horn opposite the hotel. Noisy building site next door although this will stop when building is finished.
