The service was excellent. Room was very comfortable with a sea view.
To open your eyes to a sunrise over the sea from the comfort of a four poster bed was wonderful. Then the surprise of a cosy candle lit breakfast with a real fire glowing on an old range made the whole stay perfect. Simple but very effective touches which shows how attentive the owner is to her customers needs.
I was hoping to download a film to watch but it wasn't possible. However the owner provided me with a selection of over 20 dvds to choose from her own collection. Excellent service! Will definitely recommend and go back.
Bed was so comfy and breakfast kept me going nearly all day. Would recommend.
Lovely place to stay and we felt very welcome.
Had a lovely stay at the captains lodge. Very comfortable and very clean thoughout. Very helpful and friendly hostess. Breakfast was fantastic. Will definitely return. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone. Thank you.
The whole experience from parking, our room, a great recommendation for our evening meal, to a scrummy breakfast. Final touch of filling my husbands flask for a long morning of spectating badminton.
Fantastic location-the views over the sea were fabulous! Great room facilities-we had a 4 poster bed! Great choice of food for breakfast; warm welcome from Kathy on arrival.
Bathroom a little small but was quite functional.
Cozy ,very clean and the owner was very helpful and welcoming. Cathy the owner had good banter
The welcome The lovely warm/cosy room The indian resturant nearby The breakfast
Liked it all
On arrival was made very welcome, as if I was the only Guest staying there. Hotel is spotlessly clean with comfortable rooms. I didn't use it but had the opportunity to use their secure parking. Excellent breakfast, you certain;ly won't go hungry. I would definately stay at the Captain's Lodge again.
Room was clean comfortable and warm what more could you ask for on a day and night that produced torrential rain and high winds, however, I would guess that on a sunny warm day the place would be hard to beat.
Despite arriving an hour and a half before time of availability,(because I had not read the small print properly!) Kathy made us very welcome.
everything was satisfactory and would highly recommend it to anyone
we had no complaints at all
Loved the location which is right on the beach promenade. We had a wonderful sea view. The room was absolutely beautiful with a four poster bed and seating area in the bay window. We had a very comfortable night and everything we needed. Kath was a wonderful host and cook and made our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and we really enjoyed talking to her over breakfast. She offered advice on where to eat and had menus for the local restaurants ready in the room. We will definitely stay again.
We loved the location - it's right by the sea. Cathy was really friendly and went out of her way to make us feel very hospitable.
Room decoration charming and very crisp and clean. Cathy very welcoming and friendly, breakfast excellent.
Were told entry 4-4.30pm - rather later than most establishments and had to hang about on a windy cold day.
We stayed 3 nights celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The food was excellent with a very tasty and filling breakfast. Above all the we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. A great base for exploring Northumberland
