-Said, very friendly host who'll try to meet your every request! - Very spacious rooms - New and clean bathrooms - Next to a street with many good cafe and restaurants -Good breakfast in terms of choice, freshness and quality! -Quiet area but about 15mins from the central station
- WIFI only in the reception area - Light in the bathroom is a bit inconvenient as it comes on only if you lock up :)
comfortable and clean
would want to stay there too long
This B&B is very well located, only a few blocks from Princes Street and key shopping areas. One can even walk to the Edinburgh Castle. Room was comfortable with en-suite facilities. A good breakfast was cooked to order in a pleasant dining room.
Parking can be a problem and may be provided at additional cost.
Location, friendly helpful staff
Could use some maintance but the biggest issue is the bathroom light wouldn't come on without the door being secured, no switch, very irritating
pretty interior decoration, best location, easy to local restaurants, to city center and also quiet at night, good breakfast, best staff!
nothing I didn't like, I will choose this hotel again
Price of room Excellent breakfast Helpful and friendly staff
Nothing to complain about
Location not far from town centre. Good pubs and restaurants close by.
The door to our room had a gap you could see through, we had a chair against the door to cover this and to add a bit more security, as the lock was not up to much. The net curtain, which I presume was supposed to be white, was almost black. There was continuous door slamming until gone 11.00. Our room was above the kitchen and the kitchen staff had no idea how to work, in the early hours, without crashing and banging. The sheets were stained, the use of blankets, as opposed to a duvet, not to our liking. The view out of the window was of uncut grass a dilapidated table a chair set and four old car wheels stacked in the corner. We left one day early.
The location and the fact that it is a very quiet place . The big nice room , the comfortable bed. The friendliness of Sayd the owner who really knows how to treat guests.
The strawberry smell in the room (candles ). The fact that most of the fruit for breakfast comes out of the can.
Good location No troubles
The price was high but reasonable as there was a fistival called the fringe
Easy walk to town.good breakfast.Good WI Fi.Spacious room. Nice old house.Good value for money during Edinburgh Festival
Location, quiet, nice owners, breakfast. Great showers.
Mattress were hard and could feel springs
Staff, location, facilities
The room was lovely and clean. The location was fantastic. A quiet area 5 minutes from North Bridge.
The wall between rooms 8 and 9 was paper-thin. The incredibly loud snorer next door resulted in 3 to 4 hours sleep per night. The breakfast was poor. Only 1 small sausage and 1 egg. And no bacon.
The managers at the property were lovely. The location was central. Accommodation was comfortable, clean and well worth it.
Wasn't told that parking at the front could result in a parking ticket and car towed, bit of a downer. Parking available at rear but small area. Breaky was great but waiting to be served slow, could have toasters and tea/coffee making facilities so not sitting in dining room with empty table. Had lost property and emailed managers and after a month still no word...
The parking area needs to be increased
This was the most reasonably priced property I could find when looking for somewhere to stay whilst watching the Games in Glasgow and even though it was in Edinburgh we found it more than suitable for our needs. It's only about a 10 minute walk from the train station and there are places to eat and rink withing 3 minutes away. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The room was huge and everywhere was clean. The breakfast was hot and cooked to order with a decent selection of cold foods available as well. If I ever head back to Edinburgh I will stay here again
Basic furnishing and smallest bathroom I have ever seen, but functional and clean
Its location, free parking in private garage. Many eateries nearby. The complimentary mint chocolates that were placed on the fresh towels everyday.
The fact that you had to completely lock the toilet door before the light came on. The wifi connection was patchy (maybe because we were on the top floor).
Caravel Guest House is in a clean, safe area. It is an old building but the room itself is spacious (we were in a quad) and the in-suite bathroom is adequate with more than enough hot water for showers and such. Staff in the breakfast room is courteous and quick. Good value for money (we booked about 6 months ahead).
Wifi was slow sometimes and the fact that bathroom light turns on only when the door is closed kinda odd but we got used to after a while.
size of room, location fairly close to city and train station.
bathroom shaving light not working, hot tap difficult to use. Breakfast serves very small, and BACON NOT ON MENU, should be highlighted when making booking, did not appreciate complying to owners religious belief's
Everything is nice. Staff are so nice that they provided us with packed breakfast for early leave.
Wifi is poor on the ground floor
I was very pleased with our stay and the staff were incredibly attentive. Value for money and location are key for me so this ticked all those boxes.
Location, neighbourhood, quietnes, good wifi.
The reception did not know we had payed a part in advance. The light in the bathroom only worked when the door was locked. Uninterested staff at breakfast.
Owner(s) is friendly and helpful. Room is clean. Breakfast is good. Good location and value for money.
Big spacious room for three. Clean room and en suite shower. Soft clean towels. Excellent location with bus stop nearby (Bus 8). Quiet area.
Basic breakfast: cereal, croissants and cheese. However you can ask for toast and cooked breakfast!
