Setting, efficient and friendly staff, room size and aspect, pool/spa facilities
Not the prettiest of buildings to look at, with a really long facade.
Staff polite and helpful Food good Lovely cocktail Range of place to sit Lovely surroundings
Reception very busy at times so had to wait Staff knocked on the door to clean the room on the day we checked out before we had left and before the 11am deadline. Unnecessary.
Beautiful hotel in lovely setting.
Receptionist who booked us in was very unwelcoming & unfriendly. Very bad first impression! Staff were quite unfriendly with the exception of two young men at breakfast who were very pleasant. Very disappointed.
Facilities on site, pool was wonderful. Bedroom was large and airy with the added bonus of a fridge.
Reception on TV - Very grainy. Bed - felt a bit old and warn - sagged in the middle. No information given on arrival just key and where my room was. As I was travelling on my own it would have been good to have told me where I could get a snack/meal from and what time and where breakfast would be served.
the room was lovely but didnt have a balcony which i realised some of the others had balconys and we werent offered this.the receptionist didnt tell us the time breakfast was so we thought it was later than 10 so missed breakfast,i would of thought breakfast would of been later.otherwise everything was ok
Spa and location
Really nice hotel ,which allows you to chill out in what ever way you wish
The Vines area was a bit of a let down.Food was like pub food. When I enquired about the Raymond restaurant ,when booking our stay. I was told no times were available. On the day persons could book at the times I was asking for 3 weeks previously. Never mind.
Good size room. Very hot water. Good room amenities e.g..fridge, ironing board, safe, hanging space, big TV. A lot of pillows. Valet parking helpful as very long walk to room. Good selection teas in room(topped up quickly when ran out).
Noise disturbance 3 of the 4 nights. Worst was wedding(shouting and 'singing') until 1.30am. Walls too thin so could hear talking and TV including at 3.20am. This despite asking for a quiet room. Woodwork in room very worn. Food at breakfast variable. First day berry mix was gone off (fizzy), second day fruit juice was also off (fizzy). At times only cheap bread available. Most of the carpeting needed hoovering more often. Carpet in room very lumpy. Twin room with 2 doubles means quilts are huge and heavy - big singles are better. Base sheets not big enough- kept coming untucked. Long walk to room(wrong room number to start with).
All the hotel facilities and leisure areas with very helpful staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Great game of golf and a friendly proshop. All made better as we had a free upgrade. Looking forward to a return later this year.
Nothing to dislike about this hotel.
The tranquility of the location, wish we could have stayed longer, will definitely return.
The first bedroom we were given, but we were provided another room without question.
Room with Balcony Facilities Restaurants
Location of the Courtyard room was great. Sunny weather allowed us to ease into the day with a cup of tea on the terrace.
Might have been easier to make the cuppa if the kettle was cordless. A small thing but important.
Everything we needed for a relaxing break was there for us on site.
Banging doors, nosiey neighbours
There was nothing not to like
Going home, having to leave
Breakfast croissants were rock hard two mornings running! Third day were soft.
Loved the grounds, the view overlooking the golf course was outstanding.
Well are room 235 was boiling we had a electric fan we plugged in but to hot so not a good sleep on both nights and that's what we went away for to chill relax also the breakfast wasn't to the standard of the hotel black pudding cold, eggs swimming in fat .
Everything! It was the most relaxing 3 days I have had in a long time. Great the catch up with family members, fantastic food and service at the vines restaurant and the use of the spa facility's all under one roof.
Wish they had some better package deals
Great hotel set in lovely grounds, food good , staff great and what a great football pitch to play on.
When the young restaurant staff members did arrive with room service they were courteous and friendly. Sad to think that they did not receive any of the 'tip' that one could add onto room receipt. Apparently a new policy.
I sent an email requesting spa and dinner reservations the week before arrival (main phone line was not being answered after many attempts). It was not answered and there were no reservations on arrival. Paying for room in full on arrival. First offered room overlooking 'courtyard'... which was actually a parking lot. Next room offered was on ground floor at an extra cost (but at least not overlooking parking lot). Housekeeping and room service rarely answered phone.
Friendly staff, chilled out atmosphere , Good selection of activities or places to sit and relax and enjoy the tranquillity.
Nothing really, only advice is to avoid going to breakfast at 9am can be busy!
View, location, service etc
Furnishing and layout of room. Cleanliness of the room Bath and shower fittings Beautiful gardens at the front of the Hotel Beautiful golf course, tennis courts etc Reception and Bar areas Swimming pool
Breakfast a let down in the Vines. Croissant felt like a brick. 4.5 out of 10 marks.
Great pool and spa, nice breakfast, big and comfortable room with balcony, competitive price for the area, free wifi that actually works, great setting
Fuzzy TV picture
The whole experience of staying here is great with all the facilities for you to enjoy.
-As a young couple we were treated with respect by all! -The grounds were breath taking. -Our room (214) was perfect! Spacious, clean and the view was outstanding. -The food in the Richmond restaurant was exceptional, (we ate at night and breakfast) We would both like to say Thank you!
