Friendly efficient staff, upgraded to a very nice room.

I stayed at Cardiff Hotel two years ago and I chose it again for my latest stay in London. The staff is helpful and friendly, the breakfast good, the bed very comfortable, the location simply perfect! Nowadays you can also find parquet both in rooms and breakfast area, which is clean and better than carpet.

The bathroom in the single bed room is small, similar to the toilet on the planes. Anyway it was very clean and it is obviously better than nothing.

The staff are always very friendly and efficient, the location is great, the hotel is quiet and the breakfast is just fine.

Good location, friendly staff, great price, decent breakfast. The room was quite small (with a very tiny bathroom) but clean and enough for one person. All in all, the hotel is ok for people who spend all days outside and come back just for the night.

Shabby hallways and staircases, no lift in the hotel.

Piles of rubbish outside several windows, some on stairs also. Very basic breakfast: no muesli in cereal choice; no fried eggs, only less than fresh scrambled, or hard-boiled. Certainly not "excellent" as in your best review.

By far and away the best hotel of its' type that I have stayed in. The room was spotlessly clean, the reception staff most polite, welcoming and helpful and the kitchen staff were totally aware and on the ball. It made me tired to watch them they were working so hard!! All clearly take pride in what they do.The breakfast itself was excellent. Thoroughly recommended to those seeking value with standards.

Everything was perfect. Clean and tidy. They kept my oversize luggage for 3 days after checking.

Bathroom was somehow too small.

The location is very good, the staff are always very friendly and I got an upgrade to a very nice double room which was very quiet and pleasant.

The Wi Fi signal is rather unpredictable. It would be good to have a full-length mirror in the room.

All the staff were very friendly and cheerful. Breakfast was fine. Location right by Paddington in a nice square was very convenient. Free wi-fi in rooms very welcome.

Tiny shower room - smaller than in a ship's cabin. Rather rickety stairs + some maintenance would be handy, e.g. my window looked like it was about to fall apart.

Room, very basic. Smallest shower ever & even smaller sink, impossible to wash in. No shower mat to put on the floor.

Cosy hotel in a superb location. Short walk to Hyde park. Very near tube. Nice public garden area to front. London tour bus stop nearby. Basic shops on the doorstep. Most friendly staff I have met in any London hotel.

No lift, creaking stairs and noisy doors so we kept being woken in the night. Very small room - no cupboard/drawers to unpack clothes. Minute shower/toilet, difficult to use. Poor breakfast. Tinned fruit salad!

We had a family room. Very clean and comfortable. Good tea and coffee facilities. Very close to Paddington Tube. Staff very helpful especially Agnes. Good Breakfast, a variation on eggs would be great, but overall just very good.

Only one socket in a room, you need to decide what do you want to do - charge phone or computer, or boil kettle. Freezing cold bathroom, I was not brave enough to take a shower. There was a hole in a floor covered with carpet in the middle of the room. Too expensive for B&B.

hotel was a bit shabby and worse for wear, my single room was tiny and my shower was where a built in wardrobe used to be, i didn't use it as it was too small and grubby. was ok for one night but wouldn't of wanted to stay any longer here but for the price it was ok.

Room was very very small and very warm. It was on ground floor right next to reception desk so if someone came to reception we could hear them talking loudly. Would have preferred to pay £10 less per person per night and forgo breakfast

Some construction work was going on so it was a bit noisy
