Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Spa  

Lovely hotel, lovely spot. Recommended by work colleague and did not disappoint. Lots to see and do in the local area and Edinburgh is not far away. The local people are friendly and kind. We had a puncture while in Melrose and we had so much help from local people. Would certainly recommend the hotel and the area for a short or long break.

The hotel was very comfortable, we were upgraded to rooms overlooking the golf course. In a fantastic position and plenty of parking. You don't have to worry about going out for the day and fighting for a space when getting back.

Very relaxing, good food

We stayed for 3 nights over the New Year. Our room was extremely comfortable with excellent seating. Large Bathroom with spacious shower and bath. THe service was overall excellent. The restaurant served good food, not fine dining, but well cooked and reasonable value. They catered for my gluten free diet both at breakfast and dinner without any problem. Despite the fact the hotel was full and that there was a new year's ball the room was quiet. We went for a couple of lovely walks in the vicinity. I would highly recommend the hotel

The staff,their service and the food was first class

From the momment we arrived the service was excellent, staff,food,room,terrific view from room top floor. I cannot fault this hotel everything was top drawer my compliments to all the staff at McDonalds Cardrona/ Will tell all my friend & family, highly recommended. Jim & Pat Cassidy

Cleanliness and quality of food. We were sadly only passing through so unable to take advantage of location and facilities but followed our visit with a visit to Pittodrie House in Aberdeen for lunch the following day when meeting up with my daughter who is living there. Macdonald Hotels came strongly reccommended by another daughter who had booked to stay in Bath. When she and her partner arrived there was some confusion as to what they had actually booked. Macdonald Hotels more than made up for it by inviting them for a return visit and spoiling them beyond belief! So family Stewart will certainly be looking to book with you again.

Very comfortable rooms with stunning views in the morning sunrise. Good effort in conservation of energy lighting.

The food was excellent and the facilities were lovely for a weekend away.

It was nice that the hotel staff were discrete as sometimes it can be claustrophobic in hotels however, on occasion, the staff were not overly friendly on arrival or checkout.

Staff extremely professional and helpful. Hotel beautifully situated. Food superb and well presented with good service. Room spacious with large comfortable bed.

Would have liked free WiFi connection. Requested upper floor facing rear of hotel but was allocated reception level floor facing front - but still a very pleasant outlook and room,and not worth complaining about. TV a bit old and unreliable.

Pool and Spa currently out of service. This was dissapointment as it was a majopr factor in our decison to stay here.

We liked the comfortable room and the views out to the Scottish hills. The staff were very friendly and the pool made a great place to go on a rainy November day.

A piece of luxury and time to spoil yourself in lovey surroundings with excellent staff lovely spacious rooms and very clean
