Careys Manor Hotel & Spa  

Careys Manor was a very relaxing short stay for us, although a bit pricey (£900 for absolutely everything for two people for two nights). There was plenty of food and drink, pool, sauna's, steam rooms, hydrotherepy and massage.

We did have a few minor issues that the hotel need to address. Broken and loose toilet seat, mirror screw caps missing leaving sharp edges exposed, heated towel rail not working, bathroom shelf loose on wall and the bathroom door didn't latch shut (if the patio doors were open the bathroom door would blow open). Also the main walkways in the hotel need washing and not just vacuuming. Just a few minor issues.

Everything about Carey's Manor was good. Staff bent over backwards to help. Clean, comfortable, good food, couldn't fault it.

We are familiar with Careys Manor having been guests before. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms are comfortable. Food is excellent. Location is central & easily accessable. Would & have recommended to friends & family. Will definitely stay in future.

The spa was amazing, the service was fantastic and the staff very friendly.

We had to move rooms due to the first one being recently repainted and still smelling very strongly of paint. The rooms do not have air-con, and the pillows they supply you with are absolutely awful.

We enjoyed the pool very much. It is convenient sitting in the Thai restaurant in the bath robe as the whole experience. The food are significantly less oily than the other places, e.g. 8 oz burger or New forest sausages. It makes me feeling healthy but may not be everyone's cup of tea.

I really enjoyed the senspa and found the staff excellent. The staff in the actual hotel were also extremely good and polite. The room was a good size, although I expected this as I paid extra for a better room. The bathroom could have been larger. I was very happy with the bed/sofa etc and the cleanliness. As I understand it there are two disctinct parts of the hotel.. The "modern" part and the traditional part.. We were in the modern part and had a fairly long walk to get to the reception, which was not annoying at first but after a few goes became a little annoying..

The thai restuarant was not very good, the staff in there did not seem to be interested in enhancing the experience and did the bare minimum. I was also disappointed to be turned away at 12:00 on a saturday with an empty restuarant being told they couldnt take anyone that had not booked until 14:00. The breakfast on the whole in the hotel was good, although the sausages were undercooked on the second morning and the bacon was cold. I would use the senspa again but on the whole the hotel did not live up to my expectations when you consider the price, although the room was very good, the food was underwhelming... Based on the thai restuarant which is bascially attached to the spa we didnt bother with the french restuarant and certainly didnt bother with the main restuarant due to dress code and suspected lack of value...

Lovely staff esp. Receptionists. Fab massage. Pool / sauna / loungers with magazines - perfect. Best Thai food I have ever eaten. I had a drink in the lounge on my own and felt totally at ease.

Long, long corridor! Room decor a bit dated. Service erratic - perhaps because there was a wedding on? I felt a bit lost finding the spa and working out where things were - maybe because I haven't been to a spa before?
