Spa is amazing- utter bliss, and the breakfast and afternoon tea are lovely
Ask for a king sized bed or you will end up with two twins pushed together, a massive dip in the middle and a terrible nights sleep The curtains in our room were dirty and one of the bathroom lights did not work, very disappointed
The whole experience was great
MUSAC why do I have to listen to music when eating. Please get rid of it unless it is live, but at breakfast, please
Extremely helpful staff, easy booking in,room was exceptionally clean and spacious,we had the best nights sleep in our comfy four poster bed,we had dinner in the Zen garden and could not fault the food or service, breakfast was great, such a large choice ,we will be definitely be booking to come again
Location very close to village and pubs. Very comfortable bed. Very friendly
Hallways bit tired.
The staff were extremely polite and friendly, whilst the hotel is on a main through road we did experience any traffic noise. The spa was fantastic, there was never more than 5 people in the pool at one time, the loungers make it an ideal place to relax. a very enjoyable experience in the heart of the New Forest, surrounded by beautiful horses... Be very careful driving at night they appear from nowhere onto the roads.
The only downside was the price of the breakfast, far to costly for me as well as the evening meals, but there are lovely country cafes a mile away for breakfast.
Good spa facilities
Too expensive Treatments were way too expensive and not that great
Almost everything - the spa facilities are top class.
The wifi in my room were too weak to connect but perhaps the room was out of range. Not that important.
Typically english hotel in typical England only welcomed by eastern europeans (who were lovely) but took the edge off being in a lovely English hotel! Therefore we wouldn't go back again
Everything, staff were brilliant and the best bed ever
The room (17) did not meet expectations it was not representative of web photos. The dining room ambience non existent. Problem with food although management compensated. Spoilt our anniversary celebration.
Friendly staff who were very helpful. Good location, although roads got very busy so slow getting in and out. Nice restaurants, especially good breakfast.
Wifi was very weak in rooms - dropping out a lot. Cleaning was inadequate - empty drink bottle left in bathroom, found hair slides on floor.
Dusty Dirty Cramped Old mattress with lumps
Very helpful staff pool facilities rooms were generously sized
extra charge for some pool facilities TV small it is a large hotel and has the atmosphere of a chan hotel, not a country manor too expensive (bank holiday) for what it offered. at £150-160 would have been fair
Lovely atmosphere, staff attentive everything ,very luxurious perfect place to be pampered and leave feeling refreshed.
The hotel is ok, you can't go wrong.
Definitely the "fine dining" restaurant is the weakest point of the hotel. The quality and service are just good whilst in modern times they should be exceptional.
Spa facility is huge and very clean. We had a room in the original building which was lovely.
The resturant and the bar area need updating and need to create some atmosphere in the bar. The Manor Restaurant food was excellent.
The location, staff and facilities
Buildings + grounds; French bistro; comfort of the bed; very good service from a well-trained staff; inclusive gym and pool facilities
Pricing policy, both for room and food; heavy marketing of expensive spa facilities, to the significant exclusion of the sorts of information a leisure guest would reasonably expect (including copies in each room of menus and guidance to places of interest locally); room, though clean and quite comfortable, was 'tired' and in need of updating; iron that did not work; TV controller that worked only after removing and replacing batteries, abuse having failed!
Location perfect, staff friendly and room (superior) very comfortable. Breakfast also very good and service excellent.
The two restaurants (not the Thai) had limited menus. We used the French one on both nights we were there and the menu including the 'specials' were identical. The food good, but more variety definitely required.
Fantastic and efficient staff Very comfortable bed Requested a 'quiet room' and that's exactly what I got
Not one thing :-)
Our bedroom was comfortable and spacious and it was a lovely bonus to have a verandah overlooking the garden. The food was excellent - we dined in Le Blaireau one evening and ordered room service on another evening, when we had the pork burgers, which were amazing. The swimming pool was lovely and the perfect place to relax on a hot day. We had a fantastic stay and I would recommend the hotel to anyone who's happy to pay for the comfort and luxury that Careys Manor offers.
The room we had was among the few that do not have air conditioning, but most of the time in England it wouldn't matter and we managed to stay cool at night by leaving the door and window open.
This was relatively last minute, so it was more by luck than judgement that we stayed. Just great, especially the food. Dinner was of the candlelit variety. Avoid the main restaurant if you're in a hurry...we thought we were, but ended up being seduced by the ambience, so try it if you can. Ground floor rooms have their own little verandah looking out onto the very well tended gardens. Worth getting.
Spa facilities, swimming pool, Zen Restaurant, Heritage facade.
Tired looking breakfast room, stained carpets, overcooked breakfast items, very noisy delivery / pickup activities in the car park that backed up to my room - as early as 5.45 am on the Sunday I stayed for.
The Spa was amazing. Great Thai restaurant.
The service at the Hotel's Bistro was chaotic and disjointed. Created a bad atmosphere. The 1960s wing to the hotel in which we stayed reminded me of an old folks home and the decor was very chintzy. Not worth the GBP 200 per night we paid.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi and sauna relaxing after a busy year! Food excellent in French restaurant !
Squeaky bathroom door when used at night! Pillows too soft( no support) but bed comfortable.
