we both liked the freedom the hotel gave us to come and go as we pleased. The breakfast was very good and we both enjoyed the full english both mornings. The hotel was very close to the centre about a five minute walk, and we would definately stay again. Our room was well equipped with tea and coffee and also very clean.

The proximity of the hotel to the city centre and other amenities is fantastic. Parking is a major issue in Bath and the Carfax do their best to provide parking for guests. Parking can be difficult.

A lovely building in an excellent situation in this beautiful city. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We went to Bath as there were some events in the city we wanted to go to and the hotel position in Bath is excellent for this. We like it very much.

Good, freshly cooked breakfast. Cosy rooms and cheerful staff. The car park is too narrow to park cars larger than a Ford Focus! One of the reasons we picked the hotel was that it had its own car park, but it is extremely cramped. However, they do provide parking permits, so we were able to use one of them, but would have preferred to have our car on site.

Superb location on Great Pulteney Street - a beautiful residential street located a 3 minute stroll from the centre. Excellent breakfasts, cooked fresh from a wide menu along with a small buffet. Room in the attic was very generous for a single and the bathroom was immaculately clean. All freshly decorated too. The 1980s decor could do with some updating, but the cleanliness of the entire hotel more than compensated for this.

Very close to the city centre in wonderful avenue, plus available car parking. Room was a bit 'tired', not somewhere you would want to stay in for a long time, but we didn't stay in the room much anyway! Breakfast was Ok rather than anything special.

Excellent location within a 5 minute walk from the town center. Good car parking in a nearby street using free permit from the hotel. Classic arcitecture of the hotel. You can only get 1 person inside the very small lift, but not really an issue since stairs are easy to climb

Great breakfast, nice to have it all fresh and locally sourced. Great location and really friendly, helpful and professional staff at reception. Finding the car park was a bit difficult but got there in the end! We thought it was a bit too pricey for what we expected as well. There were other hotels of 4 stars which were a similar price which looked like they may have been a bit better.

The Carfax was in an excellent central location to all Bath's major attractions and free parking was a real bonus. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and breakfast was very good. The front desk staff were personable and efficient and it was helpful to be given a map of the town. I would stay here again.

The rooms and bathrooms are splendid. The mattress in our bedroom was of poor quality. We had a bad night's sleep as a result. High quality mattresses have isolated springs, so that if one person moves, the other springs are not affected and the other person is not woken up. Our mattress did not have isolated springs, which I found surprising, given the price of the room (130 pounds). This is the only criticism I have of the hotel.

Location was ideal to get to everything. The resturant was lovely. While we didnt take advantage of the room service/tea, we know it would have been superb. Also, we had a front facing room, which was more spaciious than I expected. The bed and pillows was too hard for us, but that I know is a personal issue

Locality, parking facilities, comfortable rooms, good choice for breakfast. The decor needs updating, wear and tear is evident in both the bedrooms and the public areas however everywhere was clean and comfortable.

Convenient to Bath Abbey and Christmas Market and Thermae Spa. All walkable but also used Taxi service which was excellent. We left our car in the hotel's car park for the duration of our stay so no problems with parking in city centre! Bathroom could do with an update but room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great, as were the staff, but was a little surprised to have plastic tumblers for the juice. Glass would have been so much better.

It was friendly, spottlessly clean, the room was excellnt with quality furnishings. There was an excellent ensuite possibly a more flexible shower-head would improve it even more. The room was warm comfortable and very welcoming and so relaxing after a lot of walking. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. An excellent choice!

Great location with parking facilities. Reasonably priced. Relaxing atmosphere. It would be nice if the car park could be left open late at night ie after 10.30 pm

“The saco home in Bath was excellent all round and my girlfriend and I had a great time. Staff were superb and the room was spotless. The facilities in the room were outstanding and our two night stay in Bath was excellent. Little touches such as milk in the fridge was a fantastic addition and location was second to none, right in the centre of town, yet very quiet throughout the evenings. I would certainly stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Bath. ” James, Ashtead |
