Carfax Hotel  

The location was excellent. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. For us, cleanliness is a priority and we found it beautifully presented at the Carfax. Towel heater on the bathroom was very much appreciated. Excellent breakfast. It was great to have parking at the hotel ! Will definitely go again.

It was very well positioned for easy walking into the centre of Bath. The room was very spacious and extremely quiet. The breakfast was also of a very high standard with locally sourced foods.

The lighting in the room was poor so reading in bed was not easy. I would have liked more information about places to eat in Bath in the guest information book.

The location is fantastic, no more than 10 minutes walk from the city centre, along the beautiful Great Pulteney Street. The hotel has a small residents car park at the rear, which we used for the duration of our stay. Also at the rear, is the restful Henrietta Park. My wife has limited mobility, so I booked a disable friendly room on the ground floor, which was comfortable. There was no need to be concerned however,as there are two lifts which cover all floors. We stayed B&B, and the breakfasts were excellent. The staff were all helpful and friendly. If you are dining out, we can strongly recommend No.5 Bistro, just a short stroll away, towards Pulteney Bridge.

Some of the plumbing in our room, was less than perfect and the sash windows fitted poorly, allowing draughts into our room.

Your location and the room and the breakfasts. The front desk staff were also very pleasant and helpful as was the server in the breakfast room . It was excellent to have a parking spot while we were staying there.

The tv is too small for the size of the room and is very difficult to see. We wanted to watch some news and a bit of tv in the evening but this was a real eye-strain experience. Other than that we loved staying at your hotel.

The close proximity to the city centre and rugby ground. Clean, well planned bedrooms and good wholesome food. Excellent value for money

There was no holding bar in the bath/shower which made it very diffcult for my husband who has a problem with balance.

Excellent weekend, my daughter and I had a comfortable room on top floor, all the staff were warm and welcoming and breakfast was good. I was impressed with the care and attention especially the information where the food is bought locally. It shows that there is a wish to support local econnomy.

Making scrambled eggs is an art and perhaps the cheff might look into how to perfect his already very good cooking skills

Great location just a few minutes level walk to the Abbey. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice. Staff friendly and helpful. Great for a weekend in Bath

Decor is a little dated

Great location, a short walk and you're right in the centre of all the shops and main tourist attractions. The hotel was really nice and quiet as we never saw or heard another guest while we were there other than at breakfast (which was really very good). Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was an adequate size for a city centre hotel, comfortably furnished and lovely and clean. Convenient free parking was a bonus too. Would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The only draw back is (if you are bothered about that sort of thing) the WiFi connection is quite patchy in places but to be fair, the hotel description does clearly warn about that. There is a very comfortable lounge though where a full signal can be found.

our room was very clean and had all that we needed. i thought the teapot was a really good idea and the tea was nice. Dinning room was light and nicely done out. Food good. Lounge was very homely.

Would have been nice to get an evening meal if we'd wanted it. lounge felt a little isolated, although done out nicely it seemed to lack atmosphere perhaps background music would have been nice or the hatch open to serve tea/coffee instead of going to reception.

The staff, especially the young girl who helped solve the electrics issue, were particularly friendly.

Very convenient situation and friendly helpful staff in an interesting building. This was the third time we have stayed here. It's lovely.
